How long have you been doing this? I would look into, Late model setup's or other dirt car set up's. Like more right side tire camber, less left side camber, get a surface temperature tool to get an idea of how tire is being used. Also what kind of diff are you running, vlsd 2way, 1.5way?

Because race car

First year racing it, we just got the track,up and running again and are only doing a 4 cylinder class

I'll have to get so e of the big cars to give there set up ideas, but for me right now I'm just having fun, th hardest part that if I want to compete I can't drift around the corners, slows the car down way to much. Where as if I try to keep it together I can win, my car in the straits is the fastest by far, every restart I just walk on the guys.

My rear diff is something I have to look at, we think it's just the vsld.

My plans are to redo the coloring system with electric tsn, maybe electric water pump if I can figure timeout. Cam swap to up the hp. Sway bar and strut tower bars. And some wider rear tires.

Man thats cool! I raced USAC pavement midgets, dirt midgets, and dirt sprint cars for 4 years. Raced Formula Atlantic cars since 2012, made a few Indy Lights starts in 2013 and 2014. Nice to see a fellow racer into 240s haha

Good times, looking for set up suggestions from nissan guys.
Looking for a cam swap to pick up the lower end of 3rd gear. Thinking 240/240 swap

Also what suspention set up to run, I've got a bigger front sway bar, and am thinking of springs

Id look into getting some KYB adjustable struts and some springs. Personally (I don't know your rules), id look at coilovers with SOFT springs (unlike the stuff we run on the street). That way you can adjust dampening and put turns in on each corner to play with the way the car handles.

What are your entry speeds into the corner? How banked are the corners? Type of dirt (more clay, more sand, more dirt). What things can be done to the car within the rules? There are too many variables. Post up the rule book. Id personally try to find adjustable front lowers and soft coil overs. Negative camber is your friend up front right and positive on the front left (again all depends on track composition and entry speeds into the corner) Try to keep the rear as square to the ground as you can on exit to maximize traction coming out.

What is the car doing going in, in the middle, and coming out of the corners? How does it react to all of those. Straights dont mean anything if you cant get it to turn in and turn out.

What is your setup rite now? What tires are you running, what can you run?

PM me if you have any questions, ive been setting up asphalt and dirt cars for a very long time.

First off I own the track, it was shut down about 15 years ago and we are trying to rivie it. We only run one class of car, the 4 cylinders for the fact that they are cheap and easy for anyone to get into. We do invite other to join, but the main focus is simple
4 cylinders
Roll cage and safety equipment (seat, window net, belts for example)
He ment and fire suit.

That's it. Anyone willing to put a cage in is allowed to race. If you would like to mod your car you are welcome, but don't go crying if you but $5 k into your car and you get taken out in turn 1.

I'm running an intake and exaust on a ka. Everything else is stock. Tires are 195/55 r16 in the front and 205/50r16 in the rear, only because that's what I have around. I'd like to know the widest rear tire I can fit on a stock rim r???????? 16" because that's what I have.

Looking to do a cam swap to increase the power down low coming out of the corner in 3rd

We go into the corners at aprox 55-60mph, I don't know exit speed, it's a banked track, my guess 8 degrees

Thanks for your help

Here's a good photo,

I've got a larger front sway bar, was thinking of adding a strut bar to to keep the front stiffer? Thoughts

Bead locks or at least stamped steel wheels with tire screws to keep them from debeading would benefit you emensly.

How long is the track? A rear end gear swap would benefit you more than a cam swap. Your not entering corners fast enough to really need crazy amounts of camber especially on dirt. But thats not to say 5-8 degrees negative on the right front and 4-5 positive on left front wouldnt help. The faster you enter, the more grip youll need up front. Remember the rear is only pushing you, yes it needs grip but if the front cant keep up youll still enter slow and you'll burn the brakes off the car fast.
