Car wash. Dont mind the front bumper. Looks like the previous owner cut off the bottom on the right side. I was gonna do the left side to even it up but I said fuck it, whatever.

On the road.

Had to pull the Navan car apart to make it happen but all seems good to go for this weekends party!

Wish I could kit and paint it but it works.

Engine clearance - YES. Cooling - NO.

Its already a proven fact, hood spacers doesnt help cool the engine bay. You have high pressure behind the hood/cowl area. Hot air from the engine bay doesnt flow towards that area due to it.

To add to this, Subaru used this to their advantage on older TMIC setups. Because of the static/low pressure area in the back of the engine bay, the high pressure outside of the hood near the cowling wants to flow into the static/lower pressure area inside the engine bay.

So in reality, air is actually wanting to enter the bay, decreasing your cooling ability because you have two high pressure sources, one from the front and the other from the cowling/back side of the hood.

Thats different, you actually have low pressure going over the hood. So if you have vents, it sucks the air out from inside the engine bay. Think of it like an airplane wing. Low pressure up top the wing and high pressure under and behind the wing.

Remember all that plastic trim/crap under neat the car? Thats what helps the car suck the hot air from the engine bay when you're driving.

Only time that hood spacers help with heat is when the car isnt moving.

But with that said, my hood is spaced. Only reason it is so I can mount my damn swirl pot high enough inside the engine bay.

Yup once you responded I got the visual.

I actually had my friend create a custom skid plate for me to make sure the bottom of the engine bay is "closed off". I am also working on getting him to make me some custom plates and ducts to help channel air thru the engine bay.

I am hoping that these things along with the extra pusher fan i will be using will take care of overheating issues.

Sorry to jump off track.....keep the awesome thread going.

A pusher fan will most likely not help your cause, proper ducting would have more of an effect.

Again sorry for thread jacking.

The pusher fan has a custom duct and enclosure surrounding the fan to ensure that its channeling as much air as possible over the rad.

You dont wanna close off the bottom completely. I cut some slits out, maybe even add some louvre to suck the heat out from underneat the car when rolling.
