My idea of building a track car was finally in the works. Typical engine pull, the engine bay cleaned, cut, scrapped etc etc.















Seamed sealed the welds...





LM7 showed up.































More work!













Tying out ideas of how I wanted to route my coolant lines. This was ALL new to me. I didn't have much experience.

I opened this wanting to read v8 stuff not even noticing it said Whalen in the title, holdin it down for the mitten! What did you use to cut off the CD00x bell housing?

TF Works hooked me up (aka, I bought them) with some Rocket bunny 30mm's









TF's Evo 8 Brembo caliper brackets, very pleased with them.



Origin rear 50mm's













*Pictures are not working* But both of my rear coilover shock shafts were bent. Sent them to FEAL Suspesntion to get the rebuilt! Came back brand new! Very happy with the service!








Working on the front fitment still everyone, its now finished.







Rear calipers... yaaay. Simple rebuild session.

Got some welding in as well, this is my first aluminum weld.

HAHA, thanks! MI for the win

But, I simply used a cut off wheel (death wheel). Cut rather easy, I wasn't really worried about the looks of things after the fact.

Wilwood slave saved the day.




I guess I did this to not have any issue down the road with my seat being to high for me. Even with low pro seat mounts. Now, I can simply make some mounts that will work and give me the most room for a helmet.

*Not going to be pretty, i'm lucky ill have a seat blocking most of it . - It did hit the transmission. lolz

Okay, I have looked into the collins adapter but the cutting concerned me. If it's simple death wheel type stuff that eases my concern.

Any chance you could shoot me a link for the parts you bought to do the heims in the flca's? Did you have to make your own high misalignment spacers for the heim or did you find some that worked?

Hows the fitment of the shifter? Did you have to cut a new hole for it? Looks like you might have in the pic but wasn't 100% sure.
And if you did, was there any way that one could maintain stock shifter position with the CD009 if they shortened shifter linkage or something?

I'll take some more pictures for you. Installation of the bracket and shifter was the easiest thing to do on the car.

And yes, there was some cutting I had to do. A stock center console won't work.

Due to the heim joints I put in the lowers control arms, the Sikky sway bar end links were way off. I'm no engineer, but I think it'll work.



As far I know, the minimum size for oil relocation hose is -10AN. I was playing it safe and decided that -12AN hose will be a better choice. Hope the header clears it. May need some heat shielding.

All QA1 products, I have to confirm what spacers I ended up using.

Rod ends: XMR14 x2
Tube adapters (what the rod ends goes into): 1844-130 x2
Jam nuts for rod ends: JNR14S x2
High misalignment spacers (I think these are it): SG14-813 x4

The stock oem LCA bolts, I know i didn't use them. I used a standard bolt, i'm pretty sure it was a 1/2 bolt.

I would really enjoy a aluminum block btw lol. Mines an 02'. But, I want to get more displacement out of my next engine.

I hear ya but for the price and the fact that these bad boys hold 700-800 rwhp on stock internals no problem it's hard to beat. I was planning to drop a BW S475 in it eventually but plans have changed. If you can find an L33 it would cover the aluminum block necessity.

What's the ultimate goal? Project looks so clean hats off to you?

Yeah, I wanted a L33 after the fact lol. But, i'm really not to picky about the differences. I'll try to snag a LS3 next.

Definitely going to a track/drift car. We here do a lot of drag racing here at the shop. So, myself and one other guy (Andy aka Poormans180sx) will be building drift cars. As you can see, i'm near the end of the build. Plenty of rear suspension work to do before this get on a track (im not drifting on stock rear suspension) I'm just wanting this on the dyno then the streets.

I jumped the gun and bought a full drop out. Payed $1200 for everything. Long block, ECU, harness etc. Then ended up changing EVERYTHING on the stupid thing. Kinda dumb on my part, should have looked into it a little longer and found a better deal.

So if you had to do it all over again with the LM7, would you just get one with a block and heads? Im interested in the swap as well just looking for the most cost effect route.

YES! Exactly. I would just get a bare block. Because I had to get a few F-body parts and misc LS1 parts rather than keeping the truck parts. But, I'm for sure getting an actual LS engine next. I'f i keep doing the whole NA set up. I want some more displacement. But, where I work... ill never know. lol

Example: Crazy to say but we did just get this 88mm charger in to sell. Sitting here messing with me saying I should just put it on the 5.3L

ohhhhh not to throw any mud or anything, but extreme tuners has a horrible reputation in the evo world. Many customers never received parts they paid for and so on. . Very surprised you guys have that. I hope it works like they said it would.

I got a "deal" on a 350z, the shitty trans lol. I got a $100 (syncro's are blow lolz) back up trans i'm going to send down the TRE (Team Rip Engineering) here to get rebuilt. Knowing my luck. Ill ruin my current trans which is in rather good shape with low miles. Ticking time bomb really.

---Little off topic---

Trust me, we all know about them lol. But, this turbo is for sale. And its a COMP center section with a BorgWarner turbine housing. We have a true 70mm COMP going on our shop Evo (my brothers) And it has the same center section and turbine housing lol. So Extreme Tuners just machines they're own name in the cover. = imo.

We just got the manifold made yesterday.
