Z32 master cylinder

Hello all, I currently have stock s13 brakes and am going to be replacing my master cylinder soon. My question is can I replace my master cylinder with the z32 master? Wil it bolt right up to the stock brake Booster?

Yes but you need to make sure it has 3 fittings for the brake lines, Some came with only two(abs models?)

If you're keeping stock brakes, might just be a better idea to stick with the OEM S13 unit. Z32 BMC on factory brakes might be a little overkill. If you plan on upgrading in the future, then go right ahead.

What ultimateirving is talking about is that some of the Z32 BMC's don't have three flared fittings installed inside of it, but the threaded holes are already in place. I had to take a cutting wheel to my old S13 BMC and cannibalize the metal flare fitting out of it, and then press it into the Z32 BMC so my OEM brake lines would work. That was with the 17/16" Nabco BMC. Outside of that, the BMC bolts right up the same as the OEM S13 BMC.

Also, don't forget to bench bleed it BEFORE installing it on the car.

Yes i am planning on upgrading my brakes in the future so i might as well go with ther z32 master now and save myself some time for later. So just to summarize as long as i get the model with 3 fittings it will bolt right up and thats that?

Yeah the brake pedal will be super hard though, or rather, have less thresholds between min and max braking pressure. You'll still require the same braking effort from you foot though.
I recently installed/upgraded to the BMC that came with the R33 GTST I believe, BM50 ABS type, 1" bore, coz the original was leaking from somewhere, and since I plan on upgrading to R33 brakes anyways, I did the swap. The reservoir's fluid level connector however was on the wrong side, so I had to also swap the reservoirs over as well, but other than that it was straight bolt on.

If I read this correctly, what you're talking about is dangerous. Z32 BMC actually puts out LESS pressure than the OEM S13 BMC.

Recommend you save the $$ and just buy a replacement OEM MC or even better- a $15 rebuild kit.

Eventually, when you go Z32 brakes, I also recommend you get the S13 (AT) booster- It adds better feel.

^ Proof that it applies less pressure? Not disputing, just curious as to why.

Deciding on a booster should be a personal preference...I didn't want a mushy pedal, I wanted to know the brakes were working right. That was one of the ways I found out I had warped one of my front AP rotors. If I had a softer booster in place I may not have found out until it developed into a bad vibration in my steering wheel.

Another thing that you have to take into account is the the Z32 BMC has a different reducing ratio compared to the stock S13 unit because the Z32 has a different brake distribution/bias.

Stick to an S13 OEM.

Or maybe Im wrong and that's for S15 BMCs only... There's a thread somewhere about reducing ratios and what not. Try Googling it.

Ah here found this: It lists split points and what not:

just realized that because my car is rhd i would probably have to get the rhd master because the fittings for the brake lines would be on the wrong side with a usdm mc
