Some good info on that page. I'm gonna take a look at it after class tomorrow and see what I can figure out.

Well I pulled the motor back out and pulled the pump off. I was going to work on the mounts but my drill ran out of juice so I went ahead and cut and re-welded my shift linkage.

And then I put the motor back in to see how it sits.

Major thanks to Rev-Em-Hard/Chris Vallet for the idea!

I was making the mount plates from 1/8th in plate but I think I'm gonna step it up to 1/4 in.

Well I don't think that shifter deal is gonna work out for me. The pivot doesn't work. I have an idea though and will let you know as soon as I get what I need.

I'm going to try to adapt the xcessive manufacturing linkage from the short z32 adapter kit to the 370 trans. Should be doing this tomorrow or friday depending how classes go.

Hey Im new and only joined cause of this thread. I have been working on a VK swap 350z but I sold the 350z for a 2000 Mustang. Yeah its not an import BUT... the chassis is super cheap to work on so I dont have to hold back and refrain from wrecking a few...$600 a chassis... Im talking less expensive than a 240sx for suspension mods/ coilovers and basically everything... but any how I have the solution for the powersteering which I have done if you want call me and I can explain it... 484-903-2155...

oh yeah... my 5.6L Vk is going into my 2000 Mustang with a t70 96 A/R T4 rear mount turbo setup.

I DONT KNOW WHAT YOUR OBJECTIVES ARE WETHER ITS JUST FOR DRIFT OR WHAT NOT... BUT.. I YOUR TRYING TO START OUT AND BUILD A RACE LEGAL DRIFT CAR THEN YOU NEED TO KNOW THAT IN THE FD 2011 RULE BOOK : YOU CAN NOT CHANGE THE LOCATION OF YOUR SHITER. THE SHIFTER HAS TO BE AT THE ORIGINAL LOCATION.

HATE TO TELL YOU BUT IF YOU CANT MAKE THE SHIFTER WORK IN THE STOCK LOCATION YOU WILL NEED TO MODIFY SHIFTER AS PICTURE I POSTED AND REBUILD YOU MOTOR MOUNTS TO FIT THE SHIFTER IN STOCK LOCATION... YOU COULD TRY TO FAB UP A REMOTE SHIFTER (picture is just a reference to remote shifter) LIKE THIS.....

BUT.... AGAIN YOU RUN INTO MORE ISSUES... THE 350Z TRANNY IS A PUSH DOWN AND OVER REVERSE GEAR... THAT MAY NOT WORK WITH A REMOTE SHIFTER.... YOULL FIGURE SOMETHIN OUT.

Yeah sorry for posting so much... Just making a pointer... When you recut and weld the pivot back on you tranny make sure you applY a cold damp rag arounD the shifter shaft (on coming directly out of the tranny).. Reason is there is a shit ton of various seal that can melt and distort and weld heat move fast.. So either wrap it in cold damp rag or weld 1/4 and spray with cold water and keep repeating till weld is complete...i would honestly do both...

maybe this can help you..here is my p/s mounting on driverside.. the stack of washers was for spacing reference and i need to make a solid spacer. The Alternator is now the tensioner and will use a heim bolted to alt and the other side to front cover and adjust this way.

Hell yeah vk00mustang! Thank you for the info! I actually got a linkage from xcessive manufacturing from their "shortened linkage" for the z32 trans and I am going to adapt it to work with the z34 linkage. Also I am pushing out the locking pin and sliding the linkage of the shift shaft deal so I don't have to worry about messing that up. Also I had considered that location for the ps pump however I was worried about the contact are for the belt on the crank pulley. I like the idea of the MR2 pump.

@Mike: I hope so man I am looking forward to it!

I promise I haven't dropped off the face of the earth, just been crazy busy lately

Okay so I'm looking into standalone options. I have been looking into the Vi-Pec as well as an AEM universal.

I'm also looking into the Performance Electronics PE3.

http://www.pe-ltd.com/joomla/index.p...mart&Itemid=58

Any other suggestions? Not gonna lie I don't know much about the topic but I'm researching.

Talk to Jared, he's not on this site but he's on a few others that you are also on. He's going with AEM for his VK swap. The last I heard it should be nearing completion.

Hell If I hadn't of just bought a fun car I would hit you up for the motor.

I'll let you know if I have any issues. Right now I have the oil pan at the machine shop and he is cutting me a flange to use so I can make my pan. Performance electronics is looking over the FSM to make sure that I'll be able to use stock sensors.

So I'm at a stand still until I get the flange back.

Until then I got a new hooptie/missile car.

I got tired of not being able to drive.
