SOCAL: You could have all gotten pretty lucky today
Today I went to disneyland with my girl.
I left my car in the disneyland parking lot at 5:30pm. I came back to the parking lot at 9:30, and couldn't find my keys. As I got closer to my car, which I thought i had locked my keys in, I realized my car was on. I left my keys in the ignition with the car on, and no one took it. And my GF, who was distracting me when we left the car in the first place, left her door unlocked, so I was able to get back in the car, meaning I didn't have to call my family to bring my spare key; but on the other hand anyone could have hopped in and taken my car. You all had a chance at a s13 hatch with wheels, coils, SPL arms all around, and an sr20, but you left it there for my dumbass, and for that I thank you. inb4 Op is an idiot

definitely! That and remember to take my key out. LOL
It's kinda weird this is the first time in my 3 years of driving that I've ever done something like this, never locked myself out of my car or anything. I have a turbo timer in the car, so normally when I walk away it's still running for a good minute or so, so I'm used to it being on, but I was just distracted today. Ahhh. so lucky... especially with the s chassis being so popular with thefts these days.

And OP, you are really lucky you decided to do this in the place where most people are distracted by their misbehaving kids and not some grocery story parking lot.

This is why I do a 2-3 pat check before leaving/going somewhere. Especially before closing my door..
1 pat on my back pocket to check for my wallet 1 pat on my front pocket to check for my phone 1 more on my front pocket to check/hear for keys if I already haven't seen them in my hands This has saved me a few times.

Probably, I mean the disneyland employees who park cars must have been near my car for a good 10 minutes before moving on to the next the row of cars. but it was still there.
i usually do a check like that too I just have no idea why yesterday I didn't lol.

I've accidentally left my car unlocked a few times. I always want to punch my self in the mouth for doing so haha.
BRB feeling paranoid, gonna go double check real quick.

do you have tinted windows?
if so people might of thought you were still inside. Soooo opening up a car with the potential owner still inside is just asking for a beating IMO haha

Everyone has their one little rituals. My stuff always has to be in the same pocket.
Wallet left cheek, keys front right pocket, phone front left pocket. Makes it easier to do the pat check.
