getting a new dd in a couple months, what would you choose

i have a mazdaspeed 3, thing has been a headache and i have a lemon law case going on right now which my attorney assures me i will win, and i am getting a buy back. i will probably get about 18k back.

i am done with new cars, not just now but probably until i am very very rich, if that day ever comes, and i also realized i love cars from the 90's, probably because that is when i grew up and got into this thing.

right now the cars i am looking at getting are:

1. s14 with a vq35 swap. the place that does these swaps is a mile from my house, s14 with a sylvia front end conversion is maybe my favorite looking import of all time that isn't exotic, 300bhp in that body is about exactly what i want, it also has good mod potential, pricey, but good, and even with the stock engine i'd be happy as a dd, should get good gas mileage, be pretty reliable and easy to service.

2. 300zx tt. pain in the ass to work on, not a HUGE fan of the looks but do sorta like them. advantage is that it is extremely reliable, my old roomate had one i helped with the engine swap, they sound incredible with a good exhaust, very nice interior, tons of aftermarket potential.

3. s2000- newest choice. the best car i have ever driven as far as i am concerned, and that includes the new jag xkr, 911, boxster s, s4 and several others (besides my s13 of course). only two seats though, no power to be made in the aftermarket without fi, and the people i see driving it look annoying, lol.

the s14 is really leadng the way for me right now, but is there anything i should know about them, any problems to look for. same goes for the vq.

s2000 i have no worries about it's about the most reliable performance car you can find.

300tt its damn hard to find a good example.

all these cars cost roughly the same. what do you guys think?

I loved the Mazda3 I had, sorry to hear you've had such trouble w/yours. Other than that I'd say WRX (esp. Sti).

why not a 350Z?

i feel like it would be more reliable than an S14 with a VQ swap.

more power than an S2000

easier to work on than a VG

if you want an S14 with a VQ why not get a Z32 with an RB?

a civic. any 4 banger with good gas mileage and a/c.

a frontier is excellent choice too, plus you will have a truck and it has decent gas mileage.

we are talking a DD here right? why is everyone suggesting sports cars?

i got a bike for dd, sucks in the rain tho.

s2000 is dope, I had an 05 for a while.

pro's: fun to drive, looks modern, handles amazingly, top down = girls have bigger target to throw their panties at you, you rarely have to drive when you go out because your car can only fit one other person

con's: sucks when you have to carry luggage or anything big, hard to talk on cell phone even with top up due to road/wind noise (i was told a hard top helps a lot), top down = haters have a bigger target to throw their bottle/rock/nachos/dead rat/grenade at you

Why not try typing normally? The 350z is an awsome daily. Ive owned two but the only drawback i can see is space. And how would an rx7 be the "best way"? They are gas guzzlers and are require a lot of attention, esp with heat issues in LA. I would suggest something 4door with a trunk like a wrx.

S14 with a vq = ref for the most part. Sylvia front? wtf.

Just because you had one bad case with a new car doesn't mean all new cars suck.

Only person I know who had mazdaspeed 3 problems was this ricer who caused them because he had a lead foot.

How about you beg the OP for some of that money so you can go to grammar and finishing school.

Because you obviously need some help.

LOL Mazdaspeed is the Lemon!!! I had a 07, drove for one year for about 20K miles, it was in dealer for like 1 month in total. Blown engine, bad steering bump, axels, check engine lights......pain in the butt.

I got a S2000 now and love it! S2000 FTW
