electric vs mechanical

Was up Zilvia how is it going. This is my first post so work with me.. In todays world we have strong arm for technology.. The big move is electic vs mechanical. Fiirst lets start with the power steering pump. This in my opinion is a good upgrade for your turboed, autocross, driftcar. It helps get the lines from the turbo and circulate at the same rate.

Next will be the electric waterpump. it has the same comparison to the power steerin it moves the fluid at the same rate all the time. Feel free to add your input and add some other info.

water pump
fuel pump
boost controller
fans
power steering..etc

i think hes talking about a electric pump one this driven by battery not by belt. a belt driven takes like 4 horse power but electric doesnt tell you when its gunna go

I think what he is saying, is would we prefer mechanical, or electronic. For example would you rather have an MBC or an EBC, mechanical power steering or electronic steering like an RX8, etc.

Personally I prefer mechanical. Mechanical boost gauge, mechanical boost controller, mechanical blah blah. I don't like computers doing my shit.

I dont get this. There's nothing wrong with where everything is now and how they operate. Atleast this isnt another debate about mechanical vs. electric fans.

i wouldn't mind having a electric ps pump.
pro
easier to replace
constant power benefit on track with a lot of steering inputs.
no worries about belts or belt tensions/pulleys
no squeeling
less parasitic lost
less weight on the front

i like to know what is the eletric ps failure rate from heat/workload even with or w/o a ps cooler.

it should be the same for external electric water pump. . way easier to replace but, just more pieces to run and go wrong. slight more weight from the added components. more bigger powerful alternator to run the pumps.
