Eh, I would thoroughly disagree with the assertion if you can't make it with all-seasons you can't make with Winters, having grown up in the north east, I know exactly how far a quality set of all seasons will get you, vs a dedicated set of snow tires, or even studdable snow tires.
My car has a HLSD, which is great until one wheel is on ice essentially, but i've driven other cars, RWD and FWD in deep snow, with and without snow tires and i'd always take the snow tires.
Thanks for the advice on the square setup, I'm abit concerend about fitting a high sidewall tire like a 65 series in the front.
