Accidentally stepped on the dash last week and it is still fine. I throw it around the garage, bury it under other parts, and trip over it all the time, yet it is still uncracked.
So the sun must be its only weakness.

There may be something to this as well, as I never bolted my dash in. I always just lay it in place.
