built ka-t and i chose 17 because i cant afford the freaking tires , not because motor cant handle it , besides ..... you can have a gazillion hp with a gazillion trq , but if your clutch set up cant hold it and transfer that energy to the wheels its useless, same with tires , if you have uber sticky tires and your clutch fails your not spinning anything but the water pump
18x10.5 -10 is a serious offset and rim , you must have some over fenders , which might say you have alot of camber to make it fit, so that contact patch just went from 10 inches wide to 6 inches because of the angle, i dont think you would have a problem with a stock sr
