I was using a stock gauge wired for an s14 with a KA. The engine was a s13 type x engine so the sensor had to be changed and even then it still read high. so I went ahead with the set of AEM gauges. It was running fine and cool enough the whole time
I was just super nervous about blowing the engine up or something.
