I'm also seeing some strange behavior with the CEL. There are codes but no light. The CEL is illuminated just before starting the car and turns off after starting. Does it take some time before the codes actually light up?

I'll address the codes before continuing to investigate the close/open loop switching. p0171 and p0400 are the codes
