We are just going through that now. we were quick to move out of our place and then once the demo started all the little extras started piling on. so far we have had to:

Run a new (larger) waterline

Remove the 4 (?!?!)) layers of existing subfloor and level everything up and put a full new floor down.

Some structural elements of the house were rotted and needed to be replaced.

we have managed to move things around in the budget to accommodate all these new costs as there is no way around it.

The whole process is good but super stressful as we are moving larger sums of money around than we have ever done before.

Makes old nissans seem cheap
