Why does the starter work when the battery is 'nearby' and not when it is 'far'? How you gonna fix the issue?
Also, those voltage readings are low. That's why I said you battery is dead. Sure it might be 'new', but it's still dead. Anything under 12.4v or so is no good.
Maybe you have been doing a bunch of testing and whatnot which is draining it.

No shit, i recharged the previous one multiple times but had to buy a new one after oreillys tested it and had a dead cell. Bought the new one, and still wont work in trunk, therefore, i probably need 4 gauge wire rather than 2 so the current can travel through the wire easier
