but then on the paint chart on the first page of this thread, its missing. that and being a one year only color i would assume it would have low production numbers. is that not the case?

I searched for the paint code 505, it doesn't exist. Instead I found the standard KH3 Super Black for '89 models. But it is a rare color for that year, as there seems to be more #TH1 Midnight Blue than Super Black (in 1989). I don't remember the exact numbers however.
