You will notice speed-bumps and potholes a lot more because there is no rubber bushing to absorb the pull on the rod from the wheel hitting the object. The creaking is probably just the new bearings setting. But a cracking noise isn't good. Are the rod ends centered in the bearing?
Also, inspect the TC rod brackets that bolt to the core support and frame. The original owner of my car liked to park on curbs so they were bent and replacing them got rid of the squeaking sound.

Actually I questioned the ends of the tc rods being centered now because when I was adjusting them to the same size as the original ones, the end where the bearing is would move. I'll try to post pictures up.
The brackets are slightly bent on the driver side but I don't think its bad enough to affect the tc rods.
As for the alignment. I haven't gotten it done yet. But I did get it checked out and the caster seemed pretty even.
