I used some plastic-ish plugs. The rubber grommets you would find under your carpet or on firewall or something to seal a whole thats not being used so water doesn't get in(sheet metal Plugs). I just found some at the dealership i worked at in a junk drawer full of random parts. You can probably find them at Home Depot or Online somewhere. You dont have to but you can use silicone sealant underneath to make a clean waterproof seal no one will ever see. Just an idea.
