Side mounted composite seat + bashing the floor and the transmission tunnel to mount it lower. driver height is quite a problem in S13s :/

I really want a pic of that, because i quite do not believe it. Unless his seat is 30° inclined or more. I am 5' 9", and i had to bash the floor or my helmet would touch the roof...

I have never seen a bottom mount seat with rails letting 5'3"+ people fit in an S13 chassis without their head hitting the roof.

Cut trans tunnel hump out and weld sheet metal in. Then mount the seat to the floor like a boss

basically, even with a side mount, you cant go lower than OEM. OEM ones are nearly touching the floor, they are base mounted but keep in mind the rails and seats were designed together and the seat goes somewhat around the rails.

Any base mount seat needs some room to fit rails, and the seats goes on top. That adds quite some height. This is not an issue on most cars, but on S chassis, it is.

If you want cheap side mount rails, you can get buddyclubs super low mount.

But you still need to bash the trans tunnel, widen chassis mount holes to let the seat go between the rails and adapt the lock bar ( it is straight, you need to hammer it so it gets over front floor reinforcement) to get as low as possible.

And of course side mount seat.

Not too sure about S13s but I know a few guys that got cipherauto seats and are pretty happy with those, not sure exactly how low they are compared to stock tho

I can tell you it is not buddy club ultra low sliders, I'm 5'8 and have very little head room with a sunroof.

It is down to the seat you use and the way you bolted them ... I use these sliders, am taller than you and i have spare room above my helmet.

But as i said, whichever rail are used, you need to bash trans tunnet to have enough space between rails to allow the seat to drop between.

I will tell you what seats not to get......Evo 8 or 9 Recaros unless you want to make some serious mods to make them work

Side mount would be the way to go but I couldnt recommend one as I am on 5'8 lol

I have a Corbeau fx1pro. I have the L shaped side mounting backs and the seat basically rest on the slider locking mechanism. I drive with my seat cushion out so my sight lines are at oem level. With the cushion in my head is half an inch from the sun roof.

Will bashing the trans tunnel allow the bc rails to go any wider? It doesn't really seem like that would work with these.
