sr20det throttle body broke????

Alright so i received my sr20det and the little thing that the throttle cable is on that turns and opens the throttle body snapped off of the actual throttle body..

Is there a way to weld it back on, or am i going to have to buy a new one?

I hope its weldable...

Any help is appreciated. thanks!

Get a new one cause next time it might break where the butterfly screws are and then you suck a screw through the engine like i did. I went with an aftermarket unit though.

eek that wouldn' tbe good.

So it's not worth welding the thing back to the side of the throttle body? I think it just snapped off during shipping or something..

A new aftermarket ones like 300 dollars :/

Why don't you tell the company that you just ordered your sr from cause it should still be under warranty since you literally just bought the sr.

I thought about that but i wasn't sure if they'd replace...might say i did it or something stupid...or ask me to send the broken one back and me pay shipping..

just a hassle. I'll call them tomorrow though to see

edit: "Shipping charges are not refundable as well as returning shipping charges which must be prepaid by customer" I'm thinking shipping costs would be almost as much as me buying one online... if i have to pay for shipping there and back.

Its not a hassle.. would you rather pay the small fee to ship it back and get a replace ment or $300 like you mentioned or whatever.

As long as they're reputable they should have no problems. With zerolift autolab, they forgot to ship the ecu with my motorset. I called back promptly and said hey you guys didn't ship one to me. They had no way of knowing, but without hesitation they sent me a new ecu right away.

You'll never know until you search and then ask.

get a temporary one from here, then save for the aftermarket unit. I got one for sale cheap if you need it.
