s13 Pilot bearing issue!

hey guys i blew my ka24de so i bought another ka24de and im using the pilot bearing that came in the new motor, and now transmission is not fitting all the way on to the motor! do i need to get a new pilot bearing????

how do you know its the pilot bearing, and not a list of other stuff

Make sure it doesn't have the automatic pilot bushing if you're trying to install a 5spd tranny.

yeah that what i found out it was. it had an auto bushing.

cut a slit on one side and use a flat head and a hammer and spin it out

I had an auto pilot bushing on my 5 speed trans for like 15,000 miles. Blew out 2 clutches and 1 trans with it.
I never realized the right pilot bushing wasn't in it.

But anyways it wasn't very hard for me to get the pilot bushing out. I just got a flat head screwdriver and a hammer and chiseled it out. It only took a few hits and it crumbled and fell out. Maybe everyone else's experiences with getting them out didn't go as smoothly as mine.
