s14 Where is all this metal shavings coming from??!!

ok so i pulled my motor out today so i can start my ka-t build but when i pulled the tranny off from the engine i was in shock to see a sh** load of metal shavings everywhere... where could it becoming from and why..
also i had no weird sounds or grinding ect before the engine pull..

Your engine is TOAST!

Jk, check that shield that goes between the flywheel and block, maybe it was rubbing against the flywheel gear or something.. Or maybe it's from your starter?

HAHA thanks lol. the starter looks fine none of the teeth are messed up looking. the sheild looks ok but wouldent i have heard some thing. if its not the motor or tranny im all good. its getting rebuild with forged stuff..

Are the shavings steel or aluminum? That might narrow it down.

it could be from a resurfaced flywheel. when i had mine resurfaced, it had some tiny shavings on the back side but i cleaned them off. that could be it

well i pulled the motor apart and everthing is in perfect condition so im not gonna worry about it everything was working fine before so ima just see what happens thanks for your replies
