s14 rear trunk lock

ok so my 95 s14 has been finikey lately on when the trunk will open, the interior release doesnt work anymore because the previosu owner took it out when he relocated the battery to the trunk. anyways sometimes when i use the key its fine and opens first try and sometimes it litterally takes me 5 min of playing with it to make it work, is there someone who sells a new trunk lock or what do you suggest to fix the problem?

Visually inspect the latch. Make sure they line up. Check to make sure the height of the catch is right, along with lining up left/right and fore/aft. Try to open/close the latch a few times manually with the trunk lid oped. Does it operate smoothly?

The dealer sells a new lock with key.

Try graphite in the lock too free it up.
