| Here's the short version: New clutch with 600 miles. (6 Puck Copper Ceramic Disk, HD P-Plate, Light Weight Steel Flywheel) In the last 7 days I have had to adjust my pedal five times, and Twice today! Each time I set it with good free play, where engagement happens at mid point of travel. A hard launch or a hard right turn with some slide and burn seems to be what fucks it up. Not every time, but if it does I'm right back to engagement at the very top with NO free play. If I check, the clutch fork and slave rod are tight as hell at this point, as is the linkage between the master cylinder and the pedal. I loosen the linkage at the pedal, reset it and go again. It may last a while, it may not. I am now keeping a 12mm wrench and pliers in the car for roadside adjustment, cause when this happens the clutch is not fully engaged. I know this by doing the high gear/low speed rev and dump. The clutch bites hard when the pedal is good, but not when it fucks up and lets out at the top. Anyone have any ideas? I can't afford to start pulling my hair out again, it's going away fast enough on it's own!

| Zilvia Junkie ![]() | did you bleed the clutch system? how old is your master/slave cylinder? they probably need to be replaced if you havent as one is most likely leaking. i had the same problem when my master cylinder was going out.

| Zilvia Junkie ![]() | x2 If your last pressure plate was factory you probably wernt stressing the cylinders enough to cause issues...... and now you are |

| No, I did not bleed the system since it was not opened up.

| When I changed my clutch I also had to adjust it a few times over the first week or so...had to carry an adjustable wrench in the glovebox as well. Give it a few more days, if not bleed the clutch and see if it helps. When I asked around for help troubleshooting most people agreed that bleeding the clutch was a good idea after the install, even if the lines were never opened. | |
