I have a 1993 s13 nissan(of cousre) and i started to drive it to work today and the car lost all power and started to coast. a few secs later the dash regained power but the engine did not want to turn over. it cracks but wont sart. this happened to me before and it turned out to be a distributor problem so i replaced it. i have ran a diagnostic test ran on it and i have a ingition short(were iono). So if anyone can shed some light on this tragdic death of a great car i would deeply appereciate it.

That is up to you to find the short, not us. We will aid in directing you to asses your engine but are u even able to diagnosis this problem? What i would do is start checking the ignition wires. Might be that ignition coil and check for spark. If you do not have the tools or means to do so i recommend to take it to a professional.

well i have checked the ignition coil and i have checked the wires around the ignition switch. iwas wondering if there was any place that i am over looking or missing. i fully understand its up to me to find it but i was wondering were would be a good start. Just because i dont want have to follow each wire that deals with the ignition system till i find what it is if it is an exposed wire.

check the firewall for any wire rubbing thats a good start after that check hot spots (exhaust) and rubbing areas. now if your really unlucky your fuse block is melting/

ok that actually would be easy me to now since i am taking apart my engine to replace all that timing chain components

Wouldn't a short imply a blown fuse somewhere? Find the dead fuse...see what system its related to. Fix short...replace fuse.
