i have a '93 240sx and just recently failed smog..passed everything except NOx...my readings were super high...
im thinking it's my egr everything is stock in my car and new spark plug/spark plug wires..

my check engine light keeps coming on during long trips..
but 2-3 minutes after CEL comes on it turns right off..
i was wondering if i can still get the CEL code from my ECU
even if the CEL is off or do i gotta wait til it comes bak on??

btw anyone with a tutorial w/pics of how to remove egr that would help..
any helpful advice will be appreciated..thanks

just take out ur ECU and check the code
once the light comes on it will be stored in the ECU

and check FSM on how to take out the EGR

disconnect the battery I think the negative side, then go inside your car and turn the key on fully like you are starting the car, let it sit for 10 to 15mins. It should restart the ecu. It worked for me.

^and press your brake and clutch pedal to do a complete drain!
