how about taking the stock mount and putting bolts through them? (i know this statement is kinda vague, let me know if there is need for further explanation)

| [JEFE S14] ![]() | I threw mine on a cookie sheet with aluminum foil over it... the girl never even knew I'd used it ![]() Quote:
There's no need for bolts through stock mounts, there are already correctly-offset bolts through the center for engine and crossmember, and any more bolts through the sides or whatever would just rip up the rubber and kill the damping of the mount.

| Zilvia Junkie ![]() | the bolts wouldn't replace the mounting bolts, they would be in addition to, and would only hold the mount together they wouldnt hold the motor to the frame. Quote:

| BANNED ![]() | i just bought all the stuff for the hockey puck mounts and i spent about $25-$30. i dont think i saw a "WRITE-UP" about the "how-to's" on hockey puck mounts, but just a bunch of discussion, and a few pictures on the "DIY" thread, so i guess you cant really say its a "WRITE-UP" anyways, im gonna be bold enough to do this from scratch, and probably try and reconstruct from what other have done for the better and see what i can improve it on.. and i will take pictures and step by steps.. wish me luck!!!! =D |

I am fuckin serious, stainless sleeves dont mean jack fucking shit. I have 4 different hockey puck setups sitting in a fucking bin right now. My guess is none of you have noticed the added wear on the tranny mount, esp if your using a peak performance one. The inside bearings that give the tranny mount the proper squish will warp to hell with pucks. Took 1 trip, with 1/2 torque because the different non correct angle the engine sat because these cheap ass fucking hockey pucks. So you spent $$$ on sleeves, yet still in the back of your mind, you have some ghetto rigged bolt going through a set of pucks, that doesnt even fit flush with the front crossmember/engine, thus requiring washers, or just being plain ghetto. These were plain awfull, and the vibration was horrid. JGS or filling your OE mounts are 100x better. Fill your mounts.

| I made my own. I measured the sizes of the old rubber one, and bought a piece of rolled high tensile steel threaded rod, plexiglass, grade 8 nuts, 2.5 inch exhaust pipe, poly mold release, and some 90 duro poly. I cut the exhaust pipe the thickness i wanted, put the rod through, fille with poly, and sandwiched with the plexiglass. clamped them tight and let them set, and they popped right out. I'll do a wriet up and post some pics later today. they are great. nice and solid, but not harsh at all. the poly dampens well. Great feel and smooth power delivery. | |

| Zilvia FREAK! ![]() | I did this a couple years back. Really cheap mod, pretty much the same as buying solid aluminum mounts. It sucks for DD though. Everything vibrates, even your seats. After about 6months i just picked up some nismo mounts. Wouldn't be bad at all for a track car though. Most writeups only use 2 pucks. Sets the motor WAY to low. If i were ever to do it again i'd use 3.
