S13 Windows

Okay so i really need my driver side window to go up so i can drive my 240. I think it is the window amp, because i have already replaced the switch. I was wondering if i take off both door panels if i could use the passenger side window amp, and plug it into the drivers side, roll it up, then swap it back?

Thanks.

if you need to just roll the window up, pull off the pannel and hot wire the motor, diconnect the motor plug and apply power and ground to the correct wires and you can roll it up.....unless its the motor that crapped out

There is no window amplifier for the passenger side. It's part of the main switch.

just did this last week, what's broken? If you heard a snap sound and then your window fell all the way down then it's either the cable or the plastic cog wheel. if it's the motor go to a dismantler and you ca pick one up for around 50$. The motor drives a gear that's hooked up to a 2-piece plastic spool on which a cable sits to pull the window up and down. if either are broken then you're better off getting a new window assembly as the motor is the only removable part unless you're willing to drill out some rivets and get creative putting it back together.
You'll need to lube everything before reassembly, particularly the cable.

when i bought the vehicle i rolled the window down on the drive home and it never went back up since.

okay i just now went out to my car. the window is stuck in the all the way down position, and won't roll up.

i turned the car on and pressed down and i could hear the motor turn (i believe) then i pressed up and heard NOTHING then i kept pressing the down to hear it more, then i pressed it down to the second click ( the one where i believe it rolls the window down automatically ) and since then when i hit down it doesn't make ANY sounds.

i think i broke it more?

does that help at all?

i have already replaced the switch, and that didn't fix anything.

Also, the driver's switch can make the passenger window go up AND down, but the passenger switch can only make the window go down?

this has really been frustrating me, and i have no idea where to start/what to do etc!
