Rack and Pinion Bushings

I am having steering wheel vibrations at 65mph+. The bushings have been replaced, wheels are fine, and all the arms are fine (not bent). So, my last idea is changing out the rack and pinion bushings. My questions are; How hard is it of a project and what, if the problem is not resolved, could it be?

Get your wheels ebalanced and check your struts. Steering rack bushing only take 15 minutes tops. It's only 4 bolts.

If you are referring to the steering rack collars, they are already installed. The wheels were rebalanced a week ago, cuz I put my 18x7.5"ers back since one of the 8.5"ers was bent. And the struts (AGX) are less than 6 months old.

shake in the seat is alignment or suspension. shake in the steering wheel is the wheel balance. if there new rims they shouldnt have any dirt or any thing in them to make them out of balance. i would take them back to the shop that "balanced" them and complain because im willing to bet they didnt clean the places they stuck the weights on.
those stick on weights fall off real easily unless you use good double sided tape.

As a matter of fact, the car shakes as well, which why I believe it's the rack and pinion. Also, at about 40mph, when I turn the wheel slightly to either side, it feels really choppy, almost wavering feeling. I'm just trying to get ideas here. I am taking it to a suspension specialist Tuesday. So, we'll see.

Have you gotten an alignment yet? You can check to see if the steering rack is loose by getting it up in the air with load on the wheels (most likely will need an alignment lift) and turning the wheel to see if there's any play on the rack. Chances are not because of the way the left bushing has a lip on it, the right passenger side does not have this lip and may be able to move, although it shouldn't cause your steering wheel to shake, just some random pullings every now and then. Never hurts to change them out though.

Are your tie rods, hubs, and ball joints good?

the choppy feeling is probaly your PS fluid being low or your pump failing.
