tire choice

okay now.. i have a set of ssr hiros
16x7 +27 for the fronts and 16x8 +30 for the rears
now im a bit confused about what size of tires im going to use for those wheels..
im leaning toward 205/55 for the fronts and 225/50 for the rears
any suggestion?

I have the same wheel sizes and went with 245/45 in back and 225/50 in the front.

^^ i was thinking about putting azenis but they have limited tire size.. so instead of putting azenis's on my 16 inchers.. ima gonna put them(205/50) on my stock alloys (just for autoX)

as for the 16 inchers.. im going to go with dunlop fm901
but still.. im still thinking what size tires ima gonna choose...
its been 3 days now and i still havent choose anything..

Yeah I went with the Yoks ES 100s. The sizes I went with fit almost perfect. And I paid about 360 for them. I drove around on them some the other day and they seem real sticky. I would recomend them to anyone for price and for grip.

EDIT: Rear 16x8 with 245/45sTire pic

I will try to take a better pic tomorrow.

the new ones are better and much stickier then the old ones. also the old ones are so old (been out foryears and years). i knowa few guys who feel the olderones wear WAAAAY too fast for drift. the new ones are top stuff though. getting some myself shortly (even though its not DOT approved)

205/50/16 is a little short, though it probably won't make a huge difference. You will have better steering response etc, but it will also give you lower top speed, worse gas mileage and bigger wheel gap. I run 205/55/16 on my 16" wheels, and 205/60/15 on my 15s. I say go 205/55/16 all 'round.

I finally got the es100's I got them in 205/55-15, the height looks very similar to my old 195/60-15's...with a slight bulge.

If you are drifting....think about it!! You may opt for the cheaper tires. Here's a picture from the circuit today.

Go to the track prepared.... This is precisely why so many drifters drive around on mismatched wheels.

But....it was as always a heck of a lot of fun! Mrs. Glad rode with Glad Jr. today. She nearly wet herself!! My guess is that she is the first mother to ride with her son (on this track anyway). GJr is the first "whiteboy" to drive this track.

i have 225/50-16 all the way around right now (came with the wheels), and after using a tire size calculator i discovered they're about 3% too tall... gonna be going with 225/45-16 next time.
