S13 JDM headlamps...

which do you guys like better, the 3-projector style or the 2-plain style? why? i would assume the projectors light the road up a little better... but just tell me which you like and why. thanks

and if anyone knows anything about HID (real HIDs, with ballasts and all that, not ricey blue bulbs ) options post that too...

ok i didn't know there was dual projectors... the only kind i can remember seeing are the triple-projector kind (high-beam, low-beam, fog)... and i didn't know the halogens were so hard to find...

...anyone know about HID conversions?

you won't blind anyone if you aim them correctly. my dad's car (Porsche 944 turbo) has Euro-market Hellas that are bright as NUTS but they don't blind people (German vehicle code doesn't allow emission of light above the plane at the top of the lens... so there is a VERY distinct cutoff in the beam pattern just slightly above the horizon... it doesn't blind people if you use low-beams in traffic even though they're frickin bright)

when was the last time a stock Audi or BMW blinded you on low-beams?

no need to get so pis sy, James!
The 3 styles are:
dual halogen reflectors,
dual halogen (I believe) projectors with single reflector fog
triple halogen projectors with projector fog.

I voted for liking the projectors, because I don't want to see any more ugly sileighties or silvia conversions with the beautiful twin reflector setup.

all i saw in that thread you posted the link to was 3 pages of arguing and some guys running HID retrofits on pop-ups with perfectly fine beam patterns. running a properly-shielded well-designed HID bulb on a spherical projector is not going to create a flare on the wrong side of the car. the flare in a projector is produced by the bulb, not the lens.

and i might be a newbie to zilvia.net but i've been a car fanatic since birth and have been on numerous forums (audiworld, rx7forums, mr2board, freshalloy) for years.

i dunno, for some reason the tri-projectors look a little like insect eyes or something... i'm probably gonna go dual-projector when i finish with the mechanical stuff...

i have the triple projectors and they are bright but if angled correctly they wil not bright oncoming drivers. i personally like the look of the dual reflector. the triple look like spider eyes.

I just converted to a brand new pair of dual reflectors from a set of dual projectors. I like the new ones even more than the old. BTW, the dual reflectors do have auxilary lights in them, the outsides are the hi/low beams, and the inboard lights are driving lights.
