But I dont see why it is near sad for the pope dying. Shouldnt it be more of a celebration for him since according to your beliefs if you are like that and all he is going to a mighty happy place? He has had a great life and is a great person, now he rests after battling illnesses for a while(well not yet).

The Pope's of past used to be treated like kings. He is more than just a "preacher". He is the leader of over a billion Roman Catholics. He had a role in politics. He also helped hundreds of thousands Europeans, particularly those from his native Poland who were controlled by communist Russia and persecuted by the Nazis.
