| Premium Member   | This thing is actually kind of neat. Sure it has a KA, but let's assume it's healthy and slightly modded and makes an honest 135-140 wheel. If the EG is a CX - it weighs all of 1800-1900lbs, it's pretty much got the same power to weight as an S13 with a stock SR. That's plenty fast enough to get into trouble and have some fun. As far as Miata rear ends go, a good friend of mine has been BEATING the crap out of his car for as long as I've known him. Never had an issue with the rear end. Inversely, there was another kid I knew, 1.8 swapped, went to launch and broke something in the diff. My understanding is that those rears can hold 'reasonable' power if you don't launch/have traction.... |
