If they cut him, it is too late to sign anywhere, all of the moving around that can be done has been done unless someone who was already a free agent before gets signed.

Odom mastered The Art of Not Trying in Dallas
So glad the Mavericks had that problem and not the Lakers

So who's actually paying his salary this year? Lakers or Mavs?

To get back on topic (kinda)...I know this is more for next season, but where do you guys think Austin Rivers will sit in the draft? I'm thinking top 10, probably 5.

The Mavericks are, they traded for it and will pay it for the rest of this season, when is contract is over.

I thought that the Odom trade was going to be great for Dallas, but it was an utter failure. If you would have told me that Vince Carter would play better than him this year I would have laughed at you uproariously. They should trade him for a pet rock if they can.

Mark Cuban did everything possible to waste a full year of Dirks small window. Part of Odom being unhappy is that he knew going in that the Mav's had no plans of going to the finals this year. D-Will isn't even a sure thing, yet they gave up alot in hopes that he is. If I were a Mavs fan I would be really angry all season. I wonder where Odom will end up next season. Judging by his vampiar wife and her clan, he will try to go to Miami. But I doubt there is a place there for him not to mention how hard D-Wade and Riles went after him a few years back and he still went to L.A. These guys tend to hold grudges from what inside guys have said in the past.

The Mavs would have to trade a equal pet rock and 2 future second round picks just to make a trade like that fair for the other team.

The way I see it, the Mavs took a gamble.
Granted, it didn't work but at least they tried.
Like that article said, not trying would have disheartened fans worse in the long term.

The Mavericks took no gamble, other than personally seeing to it that the Lakers were no better for their efforts. Cuban was salty about the proposed Chris Paul trade and the Odom deal was a means of shitting on it. Unfortunately, it blew up in his face and Odom never showed up.
If Dallas was serious about repeating, Mark Cuban would have shown up at Tyson Chandler’s house with a sack of money, then immediately blow him if that is what it would have taken to keep him.
The Mavs’ best chance at a repeat was with that SAME team that won it all last year and they seemed none too interested in even TRYING to keep it intact.

Phlip is 100% on the money, Caron Butler, J.J. Barea, Tyson Chandler and even Stevenson on this roster would make this team a serious threat and maybe would have made Lamar happy to be there. Lets be honest Dallas is not L.A, NY or Miami. If you're not there to win, there really isn't anything else to do there other than eat big steaks and Potatos. Yes Mark is trying to pull a Pat Riley a take one on the chin in order to secure a future. But Riles had no choice while Dallas made their choice. D-Will is better off in NY since both teams are rebuilding. But D-Will will get more attention in NY and will have a better roster soon enough. Espcially if D12's pre-modanna ass goes there after he is done killing Orlando in every way possible.

Can't wait today for the Bulls/Knicks rematch, the first two games of the series were really good.

I gotta feeling that the Knicks will pull off the victory.

I don't see it that way. Alot of that Knicks win was on the Bulls playing horrible trying to adjust to D-Rose coming back to the rotation. As the game went on they started playing better. At the end it was missed freethrows and a bad no call on the last inbound that ended breaking up the last play that lost that game not Melo being "clutch". Tonight the Bulls will play much better and I expect them to win by over 10 points. To think the Bulls are going to drop 2 in a row to the Knicks is kinda crazy. Especially when you consider Isomelo only works once in a while. Also people should stop overstating Shump's defense on Rose... Rose is just coming back from sitting for almost a month, thats like sitting for 3 months for normal people.

Good god, I never thought I would be defending that overhyped non-defense playing combo guard but damnit right is right...

I think the Bulls will win with or without him. I have said it since last year, it's not Rose that makes the Bulls good it's the system they run. That system is what beat the Heat a few weeks back.

Lmao that is an extremely real possibility, Khloe and Lamar do NY coming soon. Between Rex Ryan, Tebow watch, Melo and LaLa and Khloe and "Lam Lam", I see nothing but bad things for NY.

Man, Celtics Big 3 played like they're in their early 30s again. Garnett hitting big shots down the end of 4th but Rondo still sucking on the FT line when trying to close out games.

Just finished watching the first game (watching the Bulls/Knicks match now). The Heat couldn't hand the Celtics a loss to close the gap between the C's and the Knicks, but I don't expect the Celtics to collapse either way so I'm indifferent. That was a great win though, The Celtics have been playing fantastic basket ever since Bradley was inserted into the starting lineup, and Doc truly know how to get the best out of his teams; they're definitely a team who are better than their record indicates.

I'm just impressed how Bass was hitting 10 footers like its nothing. If he was just a tad bit more athletic, he'd be a fucking beast on D.

If anyone wants to watch a nice rigging of a game by the refs, watch the bulls-knicks game.

Whats the reason to rig a game for a team thats already in the playoffs? Or are you just blowing off steam?

Lol I dunno if you saw the game but bd pulled some solid penetrating pass which chandler and jeffries couldn't handle.

This game was the battle of the boards which knicks lost. The lack intensity on D when rose was playing wasn't there. Shump was getting beat and careless. Novak was even ice cold. The refs were getting ridiculous. Woody was angry at td for not knowing the plays and couldn't rely on him. I knew Knicks would win one and lose the other. The lost wasn't so bad. I'm more concern about the bucks. garbage time started early on fourth.

Damn, Andrew Bynum has 20 rebounds already!

I have this strange feeling he will allow himself to get beat on the pick-and-roll late in the third, then get two quick technicals, or goon Tony Parker and get ejected.

Looks like I was wrong about Bynum, and Ron Artest decided to show up offensively.

Also, the Knicks gutted out a quality win on Novak's shooting. I am still not convinced that Carmelo's incessant isolations are helping, though. I counted three times in the 4th quarter with the game in the balance that some movement of the ball would have created some points, but he iso'd and nothing came of it.
