Just do jerks with a lighter weight, focus on that explosion in the dip drive and practice trying to push yourself under the weight rather than finishing it out as a push jerk press lol. My problem I can identify in the video is my hands are way too close together so that's why I can't finish out my press. I widened my grip today during an ass kicking of a workout and found that to work a lot better.

Hook as in the thumb tucked under my index finger or under over grip?
For deadlifts I havent started doing hook grip(thumb tuck) for all other oly stuff yes. One of the things on my to do list for sure.
once I break 500lb grip may become an issue, but im not there yet and it hasnt been a problem so far.
For the most part im always under over unless im doing lightweight deads say 225 or less.

You sign up for the Open?

Serious holes in my deadlift game, going to work on some supplemental lifts once my left hamstring heals completely, I probably shouldn't of been pulling this with the tenderstring. Started cranking after taking in my breath so not to load the hamstring too much and it hurt my technique greatly. Way too much back being used.

Maybe if I had them stretchy pants like Michel lol. And yeah signed up for the open, we're currently doing games training, shit's intense. Those sled pulls this morning were no joke.

Definitely saw the crank and yank on the first, people seem to lose a ton of good load transfer when that happens. some really good reps at the end, very good progress.
BTW your lookin good wayne! Keep it up!

I love my REP22 tights.

Last nights wod was rough, total of 168 burpees 50 deadlift 40 hang cleans and 30 push jerks in 24:55. My calve cramped on the last few rounds of push jerks, it was horrible. pickle juice please.

I FUCKING TOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOLD you, those burpee every minute wods suck ass. The worst is when you're like down to the last 5 reps and instead of banging them out because you're so tired you get sucked into another set of burpees.

Diet challenge at our gym, my nutrition is dialed in, been eating portioned out paleo meals, no salt, no sugars, no processed foods. Shit kinda sucks because I miss pizza and coke but I'm getting skinny and strong so I guess I'll live right lol.

how is it exactly you guys accomplish "no salt". damn near every single food ive seen in any store has at least some sodium in it. i dont add salt to anything i eat but low sodium is getting tough

Buy fresh meats, veggies, cook in extra virgin olive oil, or coconut oil, pepper is okay and fine sea salt is cool here and there. Buy nitrate free meats (sausages) and shit, it's expensive blow like 250 a week on groceries for 2 people. Fruits, organic juices, coconut water up the ass.

Maybe considered thread jacking, but that isn't my intent:

I can't gain weight. I'm 5'11", 150lbs. I would like to gain some healthy weight, 10-15 lbs. I don't want to be ripped or muscled, I'd just like to put on a few pounds (would honestly help with work). I eat a lot for a guy my size, but it never stays with me.

Any supplements or diets you can recommend?

make sure what your eating is healthy for you, and "eating a lot" isnt a calorie number. simply put you need to take in more than you burn in a day, that simple.

so i say eat more

I tried 4500 calories a day for a month and I gained 2 lbs. I'm active, but not that active. I don't run or workout. I have a job and I love my garage time. Are there any food s that I may be missing that could help? I don't eat prepared food (restaurant/fast food) more than twice a week and I don't like sweets. Red meat, chicken, pork, potatoes...the good ol' boy diet so to speak.

lots of milk and brown rice can be added in there, otherwise it seems your doing fine as food choices. make sure your portioning is correct and try to stay away from heavy carbs late at night or you really are just going to put on fat. im not the best at diet stuff i just know basics. i was up to 6k cals a day for a while, then got a proper diet of 3500...and still gained. whole grain pasta too...not very filling but damn is it calorie loaded. almonds and nuts as well, full of "good fats" so that should help. 1g fat = 9 calories so you can see how that could help put on some good weight

Love milk, so I'll try to increase how much I drink. Never thought of brown rice. I work evenings and sleep as soon as I get home (after a few egg sandwiches). I eat a lot of pasta (typically white pastas, hope thats the right term) with cream sauces, alfredo or vodka and I snack on walnuts and pistachios (as well as yogurt, string cheese and roast beef or turkey sandwiches) at work and in the garage. I figured maybe by 30, my metabolism would slow down but I guess i was wrong.

Generally you do not want to cook in olive oil because once it is heated, it oxidizes. cook in full animal fat or coconut oil.
Coconut water is great but packs a ton of cals. I know paleo food is better for you no matter what, but bottom line is that if you aim for fat loss, you have no choice but to curb caloric intake and coconut water packs high cals. if anything, PWO only.

Wayne, the progress you have made is out of fuck#ng control!!!!!!!!!!
Paleo for the Motha fuck#n win!
you weigh 7 more lb than I do now, dick!
Hats off to you bro!

Milk yes Raw milk better, brown rice no. Bottom line is grains do nothing good for you, if you are less fortunate financially and rice is all you can afford then go ahead. Other than that you are better off eating sweet potatoes as your source of carbs. Dont eat any pasta, whole grain or white its all the same. youre most likely better off eating a snickers bars, than whole wheat pasta or a few slices of whole wheat bread. lol sounds crazy but its the truth.

If you want cheap, dirty and easy cals, and most of all GROWTH/STRENGTH!
Try drinking a gallon of whole milk per day if you can stomach it.
IGF1 is great for growth, however it does increase aging. So take the good with the bad or dont get it at all.

^^^alright, what are some other good carb sources? i've been pulling the whole "poor college student on ei" shit for the last 6 weeks, and HATING myself for not making it to the gym. i wanna get my diet on point and pack on as much muscle/size as i can before i go to vegas in june.

as well as good protein "snacks" besides cottage cheese? any other tips? the only reason i ask is because you pretty much contradicted everything i've ever read about whole grains/breads etc. i just dont see how whole grains are bad? not doubting you, more curious

I disagree with the view point. Complex carbs > simple carbs.
