After borosun's comment I have been watching True Blood. I quickly realized that it is propaganda for gay rignts. Not to say that I have a problem with that, but it is kind of hard ignore. For instance as people in the movie are protesting vampires in society someone is displaying this sign.

I mean come on.

I also find myself hating this character.

She is ignorant, racist and loud for no reason. I really wish they could have found a better token.

I have seen a few episodes of this. I kind of like it. A world where vampires and humans co-exist.

Read The Historian, by Elizabeth Kostova.
The title is deceiving, but it is a work of fiction, and an amazing one at that.

Ah yes, I've read that. Only "Vampire" book I've read, and it's very good. That was the author's first book. (Her second has nothing to do with vampires or anything supernatural).

Hmm I'll check it out. I mentioned this on the first page, but Stephen King's "Salem's Lot" is quite an entertaining read in case you were looking to add to your vamp reading.

I just finished reading "I Am Legend". Excellent book (well, it's more like a novella at ~160 pages) with a cool ending. I don't remember the details of the movie, but my impression was that the monsters were more zombie-like than vampirish. Anyway, the book is about vampires.

I was surprised to find out that the book was written way back in the 1950's, you can't tell from reading it. The copy I bought (paperback from B&N) also has a bunch of short stories by the author as well, all of them creepy/supernatural in theme.

Vampires eh? I would not have guessed that. I have heard the book is better than the movie (as it always is). After I finished Steven Kings "Needful Things" I will pick this up.

Really? I did not enjoy that book at all. Then again I read it right after I saw the movie...

I thoroughly enjoyed the Necroscope series from Brian Lumley, I've read books 1-5 so far.
