i'm not sure how that mr2 would violate copyright law. was the owner trying to pass it off as a ferarri for sale? i don't get how modifying ones personal property to look like something else could violate a law. and where does their law draw the line? if i paint my car a "lamborghini" paint code, would italian police soon be knocking on my door? otherwise, this seems very gestapo of them to just come in and STEAL someones car for looking like another brand. you'd think the italians would appreciate a tribute. (as long as the owner wasn't trying to profit from it).

i was thinking the same thing. im thinking he was using it is some sort of marketing way.

Years ago there was a company in Arizona selling kits that turned your S30 Z car into a 62 Ferrari 250GTO Replica and it looked pretty damn convincing until you got up real close. Ferrari sued the pants off the company because they were selling real Ferrari badges to put on the car. Said company went out of business. Though not before some people built these things. There is actually one in Los Feliz here in LA I have seen it at a shop. LOL

For tricky AB, who thinks the Italian Police should be out fighting the Mob? That car was confiscated in the northern half of the country.
For the most part, the Mob is more or less located in the southern half of the country and Sicily, and they do go after them big time.
Plus its true, the Italians take Ferrari very seriously, Its a national icon.

I guess you really don't follow F1 and are into Ferrari because if you did you would not make the ignorant statements about Ferrari and Italy that you have made.

Maybe I missed something, but I didn't find anything about which city was posted in said article.

I'll be impressed if you can tell by the pic alone.
That doesn't look like any of the cities I've visited in Italy recently.
It looks too clean and modern.
Maybe some parts of Milan look like that.

Actually I was just hazarding a guess LOL and I was wrong. Ostuni Italy southern Italian down on the Adriatic dates to the first century AD. It does appear to be a resort town , Its in the Apulia region and quite possibly organized crime was involved with that car. As the local Sacra Corona Unita as the they are called are heavily involved in drug trafficking, smuggling of Tobacco from Montenegro and trafficking in stolen cars.
I.E. They are not having wars like the ones in Sicily and Calabria . In Calabria they are actually trying to cut down on the bloodshed.

LOL by the way I am Italian American, so I do make it a point to know something about the good and bad of the background of my cultural heritage. LOL

Oh and yes Ferrari is kinda of special to me as well. LOL
