I usually stay out of political threads for obvious reasons but I think ppl should get their facts straight. This housing melt-down was started way before the Bush era (I am in no way saying that everything Bush did during his terms was good/right, everyone has their faults). But to further defend what RJF is stating here:

YouTube - Timeline shows Bush, McCain warning Dems of financial and housing crisis; meltdown

For the record, I don't consider myself a hardcore democrat or republican but when ppl are buying $500k homes and making $50k/yr something doesn't add up. Also, another fact (not opinion). Obama is from what state/county. Cook County, Illinois. To date this has one of the highest foreclosure and unemployment rates in the country. Way to take care of your own. Also, another FACT. When someone runs for president and already have an elected position (governor, sentator) they are supposed to withdraw from taking pay (since their time is being spent primarily on the election and not on the official duties). Let me think, only person who didn't want to double-dip was Palin. Everyone else "where's my $"! Again, these are facts, so with that take this info as you will. /Rant.

How do you figure? In California the median price of homes was 500k which was 15 times the median income per capital of the state.

Like I said, the mortgage melt down had DICK to do with sub-primes, but the entire industry was geared up with cheap easy credit courtesy of the central bank.

Oh and

President Calls for Expanding Opportunities to Home Ownership

So much for Bush Administration warnings...

The housing bubble was Bush's easy way out of recession and he took it. Actions speak louder than words. That's the FACT.

Why do Republicans feel the need to defend Bush? He was a terrible president, and I say this when I supported his 2000 campaign. But I'm not going to defend him just because he says he's a conservative (he's not).

I saw something on the news the other night about President going to Africa (i think).
The Africans there loved him.

This seems good. I'm glad other parts of the world like us somewhat

I don't know that I believe that...
It seems to me and some other people that Clinton was busy trying to kill people that were in our way, even WHILE allegedly getting alleged hummers in the Oval Office.
Not to mention that it was the year after Monica allegedly spilled on the dress instead of swallowing -- but Clinton somehow remained president -- in 1998 that he continued to make attempts on bin Laden.

Yea, he already went to Ghana and some other countries last week. I called my mom in Ghana and she told me that a lot of people really like him over there.
