The City of LA is less than half of the total of LA.

LA - Metro: 17,755,322
SF - Metro: 7,533,384
SD - Metro: 3,001,072
Sac - Metro: 2,091,120
Fresno-Clovis - Metro: 1,002,046
Bakersfield - Metro: 800,458

Even our shitty backwater cities are larger than half that list, and most of those listed are the only large cities in their respective state.

Our state is bankrupt because we pay THE MOST TAXES and get THE LEAST BACK. The feds mandate programs and pay for all the other states to run them. CA has to pay for it by itself. We are in the top ten of all nations for GDP yet we are given no money to budget with. Our tax money goes all over the country while we get next to nothing.

You can stop talking shit about things you obviously don't understand. This state gets the shaft when it comes to trade and taxes.
