| Post Whore! ![]() | Have you guys seen this video? http://www.dailypress.com/videobeta/...6c41&src=front I've never been an Allen Iverson fan. I considered him to be too small to be a great all-around guard, even though he was a spectacular offensive player. I always viewed him as a selfish player and his off-court antics didn't help his reputation. I know many players in the NBA have their own charities and donation foundations, but I found this interview to be very touching and after all these years I can finally see him growing up as a person through his words and becoming a better person in the future.

| Post Whore! ![]() | its great that you are impressed, but as a warning, don't get too overly excited. i know a lot of warriors fan got fooled when mdj (mike dunleavy jr) dominated in summer league his rookie year and marco belinelli shot lights out one year, but were greatly dissapointed when they didn't turn out so great in the pros (dunleavy sort of redeemed himself in one season with the pacers). how is sun yue doing? he looked really great in some videos before he got drafted. some people posted about him before he got into the NBA, and he looked really skilled for a PG. i had more hope for him to be a steal in the 2nd round than i have with Yi at #6.

| Post Whore! ![]() | Oh I know, take that "impressed" lightly, lol. It shows good signs though, don't get me wrong. Yue is not on the summer league roster. I really don't think he can get playing time in LA with Phil's reluctance to play rookies/people who don't know the triangle. He runs in it practice, but practice and real games are completely different. He has to bust his ass off in order to get playing time, and in LA's system, he just doesn't fit well right now. I would LOVE to see him develop though. A 6'9" point guard is a fan's wet dream... |

Trader Rating: (5) | You know what USUALLY happens when a coach comes in and preaches defense at a group of players who have not been previously asked/required to play it? Yes, that's right... A locker room mutiny takes place and Terry Porter gets fired mid season. Players willing to play on teams like this give an approximate fuck about actually WINNING anything, they care about padding their stat lines and the resulting fat cash such an act helps along.

| Post Whore! ![]() | ben gordan and charlie v?? hahaha... unless joe dumars really sees something in these guys as "pieces" into building another team similar to the team he built with outcasted guys like billups, rip, prince, wallace, and wallace. you should be worried. but joe dumars is a good gm, so he must have some kind of vision.

| In time-out for misbehaving. ![]() | yeah they did mike curry dirty they could have let him couch one more year but benching rip Hamilton was the main reason he got canned i think.i think the new guy they are going with is garbage but well see i think Detroit is still goon be a sleeper team in the east. |

Detroit will not be a contender this season, not with Orlando, Cleveland and Boston in the east. I mean, Detroit could make the playoffs, but shit so could Charlotte.

Then you account for the max money the former got, and it's a bad exchange. I must begrudgingly acknowledge that Otis Smith did a good job despite losing Turkoglu. Bass at PF, Lewis to SF, and Carter to SG is pretty good. Still needs frontcourt depth.

As much as I detest Vince, I am still calling their offseason so far a good look, so long as they somehow retain Gortat (which they probably won't).

Gortat Disappointed That Magic Might Match Mavs' Offer Sheet -- NBA FanHouse "I have a feeling now they (Magic) are going to match it,'' Gortat said Friday between Summer League Games. "That's what I'm hearing, they will match. We'll have to see, but I'm kind of down right now. Either way, I'll end up on a pretty good team.'' "I want to develop my game and become a better player,'' he said. "I just don't know if I'd be getting the same minutes to play here as in Dallas.'' "I've said all along, I think the number (his contract) is a little high,'' Smith said. "But that doesn't change how we think. One thing (signing Bass) doesn't have anything to do with the other (matching Gortat). I'm still working on a few other things, and until those transpire, it's kind of premature to say what we're going to do.'' "He (Smith) is like an iceberg,'' Gortat said. "You just never know about him. He can laugh. He can smile, and at the end of the day, it's no, no, no, they aren't going to match, and all of a sudden I'm finding out they might match.''

Sure, they got younger, but they didn't get better unless CV makes a giant leap in production. They still have no center. They let Amir Johnson go to MIL for free (Oberto's nonguaranteed deal). With the most cap space in the league, they should have leveraged it to get a pick or two, OR evaluated which teams were desparate to move salary. Utah, for example, would have probably given Detroit Boozer for minimal compensation. They use Boozer for 1 year, then they have another expiring and roll over the cap space to next year. Or, they could have thrown a frontloaded deal at Millsap like Portland did (but even MORE frontloaded, since they have more free space). Tyson Chandler is still available for free; if he were healthy (uncertain), he's an excellent addition. The Bobcats could be talked out of Emeka Okafor. Dampier has only one year left and Dallas could let him walk. With max space they could have pried some compensation or cash out of Toronto/Dallas when they were trying to do the Turkoglu/Marion deal. Overpaying for middling talent is how you make the least of cap space.

why is he playing hardball, that is a very reasonable offer to him. (he probably thinks he can get the $10M/yr he was asking for without any leverage) didn't he learn anything from ariza??

most of the time (first broke the Gasol and Artest news to me hours before they actually broke the news). We'll see.. This LO rumor is really heating up. Michael Beasley is actually on a plane right now to LA, and has been thought of to be part of a sign and trade to involve him, Boozer, and LO. The plot thickens... Utah matches the Milsap offer sheet.

It's all speculation though. I can see why Pat Riley is gunning for Boozer and Odom. He wants to win NOW, and by the free agency class of 2010, they'll have around $30mil in free cap space to use if they sign those players. Last edited by AkademikONE; 07-17-2009 at 02:15 AM.

| Zilvia FREAK! ![]() | i hope you're right akademikone. if we lose lamar for nothing than this season is going to be tough. boozer or beasley would be a good addition but i think i'd still rather have lamar then either of them because of his versatility. |
