anyone else feelin down about the economy?

anyone else feelin down about the economy? like you just dont feel motivated to do anything any more..

ugh just one of those weekends.. bills stacking up, car due for smog/registration.. no job for like almost a year, even tho i push my resume hard.. no decent jobs hiring in the inland empire(crappy part of socal imo, nothing really goes on here) at the moment. wont really settle for some fastfood job since it wont really pay anything but the gas used in my car lol. *please dont make this become into a lazy bum get a job pointing fingers*. Curious if I aint the only one. I wouldnt mind goin back to school but im even loosing motivation for that with the economy, costs, bills etc..

Luckily Im a single guy, I can put my social life on hold for the moment I dont mind.

Im hoping shit pics up this year instead of drag on.. People getting laid off left and right etc. It sucks!

Word of advice for any 16-18 year old thinking they want to play with cars out of high school , DON'T. Time goes by, you spend all your money on cars, and you dont accomplish anything.

man thats the thing.. you would probably get a part time, pay checks like 200 bucks or something, which would bearly cover your gas money if you have to drive alot. And worry about someone messin with your car in the parking lot lol. The only fast job that i hear is decent is pizza delivery, but puts wear on ur car unless you got a car you dont worry much about. and its tough considering to sell your car or stay out of the hobby, always peers/friends who will say stuff like "aww whyd you sell it? " or " you should have kept it". yadda yadda.

sadly im still a bum livin at home, hoping that my folks would kinda consider that its tough in the economy right now, even some career fields aint too promising etc.

I'm sure there is a fast food joint within 5 miles of you.

Don't drive around pay your bills and keep pushing your resume.

Idol hands are a tool of the devil and lazy whiners.

The sky is falling! The sky is falling!

Sell everything you own, your investments and don't buy nothing. Put all your money under your bed and the economy will recover!

I'm just sucking it up. Using my vet status to get me security jobs. But even those are scarce. Just keep at it, its starting to work out for me.

buddy of mine just applied at a sub shop. one of over 200 applicants in a weekend.

so no, you can't even get shitty burger joint jobs.

also the unemp offices have thousands of people applying per job now.

town population 80,000, using surrounding area, about 100000-120000 people

2 weeks ago 6 jobs hit unemployment office. over 20,000 applicants in two weeks.

shit is getting desperate right about now, you have to fight for it and be wayyyyy overqualified for the job.

the guy in my prior post didn't get the subway job, a guy with managed his own deli for a few decades but had to close due to the shitty economy. the job market is saturated with way too many over experienced people that gout outed of a bunch of good jobs that got canned due to business closing. right now your not competitive to be a grocery store stocker unless you have at least a BA.

I think that's a difference between my/our generation and...say, my grandfather's generation. With his/their work ethic, I believe that he would be doing whatever it took to be getting a pay check. He's done everything from selling dynamite to raising catfish.
It seems that the general public isn't willing to tough it out, so they are just waiting for the government to fix everything. retarded.

No doubt, times are tough. Hang tight guys. Word of advice, get your foot in the door (any job) once there, work your way up. For those of you, who have a job, give thanks.
And take care of your jobs, work hard and learn as much as you can. Make yourself an asset to the company. Don’t walk around saying shit like “That’s not my job”.
Those type of attitudes don’t get you nowhere in life. Also, try looking for side jobs. Drive down the street and ask “Mrs. Smith” if she needs maintenance work on your Chrysler. Look around, there’s $$ to be made in many places.
Keep your heads up and good luck. God bless.

what do you guys think? about competitive pay.. figure companys will lower their employees salaries because they can easily find someone to work for pennies now. I think a deciding factor in loosing my prior job was they could fire me for some bullshit reason (saying i didnt keep my end of the bargin/warned about procedure), and replace me with someone who will work for cheaper starting wage, thus also making me not qualify for unemployment so they dont have to pay insurance..

The only thing I am pissed about is that I chose the wrong line of work. If I went into banking or mortgage industry I could be getting free money and bonuses for driving our economy into the ground...America, fuck yeah!

As of right now, the only thing I see that's doing ok are skilled trades like plumbing, electrician, or automotiv tech. If you ould get in a fast lube place or whatever just keep it till it gets better.

Yea, thats what the 71,000 people thought 2 weeks ago before they got laid off.

Here is my up side/ down side.

up side, cost of living in indiana isnt shit. I work for one of the countrys most "upscale" furniture manufacturereereres (texas and east...no west coast) im secure in my posistion in upper managment/corporate.

Down side, the midwest takes the biggest hits for buisness closings/layoffs. Northeast Indiana is basiclly nothing but factorys and labor places. Indiana Department of workforce development is telling people right now, they do not know when people will be getting paid for unemployment because they are over ran with people filing.

Im not worried about anything, Ive been piss poor with nothing to eat for weeks before. My parents own their house and have extra room. If i were to ever loose my job and was too lazy to go make shitty taco's or fake hamburgers, than id move in with them and gain lots of weight.

On a serious note, "bros" get into pizza delivery in a NICE area, money houses. I used to deliver pizza out of hs in the rich side of town (colts/ pacers players and other assorted millionaires) I usually brought home 150-250 a day in tips and around 300 a week on a check.

ive been drinking a bit, i dont know if my post makes sense...i dont care.

My president is black

man i been thinkin about pizza delivery, i had a friend who went to the local university who lived on his own while doing pizza delivery in his clean 240z. I jus dont think it would be a good idea to do it with my fc since its pretty attention getting/low &kitted/modded.. If i had another car, i would be down.. this is where being a car enthusiast bites you in the ass.

Hypertek im with you man the Inland Empire sucks ass at trying to get jobs. I have tried a lot of different places like craigslist, and even going to all the stores surrounding where i live at. Plain and simple a lot of places are not hiring right now. There is SOME that i am sure of but it's hard trying to find them. I have heard that in Temecula, Rancho cucamonga, Corona those are some places that have some jobs available in the city but the drive is killer and if they give bullshit hours then it wont be worth the drive.

yeah, last week i had got a temp job for 1 week thru appleone in temecula *thats already a bitch drive for me*, for a job in hemet, only for 1 week. Takes me like 30 minutes to get there from Perris (i live in perris now, i used to live in riverside). I was only at this job for 3 days than they tell me they dont need me anymore.. I was upset because i drove there tuesday morning and they told me i didnt have to come in,, "we left you messages on ur phone the prior night "... so i wasted my time and gas.

Not sure how i can put 3 days on my resume lol
