After seeing that last page I have no respect for piranhas.

It took a whole clan of them a year to take care of a goldfish and a frog.

Throw a deer in there and see if they can redeem themselves.

I got a little excited when I saw this thread lol... I just picked up a few half dollar coin sized P's and currently have them in a 10 gallon tank. They are already out growing the tank and I will be posting up pics my 110 gallon setup when its ready. They are only as bad as they owners raised them to be. Besides feeder fishs, frogs, and pinkies, I have them trained to eat flakes, pellets, live blood worms, freeze dried shrip, some fruits, house flys, and other insects.

^^^ get those things into a bigger tank asap. new tank specs? such as filter, lighting, substrate, ect. good idea with the blood worms. those are great for fish. my school of tetras go ape shit over them.ill post pics of my 300 gallon planted soon. i just got a shipment of plants in today.

Btw if your undecied on substrate i would recomend going sand. not reef sand just plain old play sand from like home depot

i had four. one died, and out of the remaining three two paired up. they ended killing the thrid Piranha. i thought they would mate but died while i moved. (stressed them self out. kept crashing into the top of the tank.) had them for two years. i spent alot of money on gold fish. almost $5 every three days.

a lil advice. if you have a school of Piranha's and the fins have bite marks, its time to feed them. they take nibbles off each others fins when hungry. i used to strave them so i could see the savage attacks on the goldfish lol.

They actually handled pretty well in the 10 gallon, but I had to separate the gold piranha from the red bellies The GP would rather nibble at the RB instead of the feeder fishes hahaha. Yea, I think blood worms are great for every fish. My P's go bananas over the blood worms compared to anything else I give them. I got a killer deal off of craigs and came up on a Fujimoto 32nd Anniversery 110 gallon tank 5'L-2'H-1 1/2'W, solid wood stand with doors, Rena XP3, Hydor Theo 300w heater, Profile 5500 dual air pump, unknown brand light fixture with some philips bulb tube and a pair of large fish nets for $180. Then I spent two weeks to save up and decide what substrate I wanted to go with. So I went with medium sized non polished pebbles for easy cleanning and feeding.

Damn that sucks... I feel ya on the feeding part though lol all 6 of mine are now about 3in. and they are eating 15 small gold fishes within 2 days.

hahaha yea I saw that happening and started doing a midnight feeding of blood worms. I would want to run the risk of starving them cause I enjoy looking at their nice fins. Amazingly they heal back super fast! more pics to come soon of new set up

That flowerhorn looks like an angry fat women hahaha, arowana are pretty sick too but you cant really keep more than one in a tank. Silver arowana are like what ever... I would trade all my piranhas for a rare Asian Arowana in a heartbeat! Well heres a really awesome pic of an asian arowana and the rest of the pics of my new setup

i dig that substrate. don't have a tank i could put it in but it looks good. what kind of stone is that? the botanical gardens here have a couple walkways lined with those, i used to pocket a few everytime we went when i was a kid.

update on my 55: retrofitted the hood for eight CFL's, super bright. then i put a couple crayfish in it. they lumberjacked all my anacharis and made a mess of everything, then one ate the other. so i moved him to a 10g and the 55 has started on its healing process.
do not put crayfish (or any crustacean) in a planted tank. bad move. although he did clear out the anacharis, which i thought looked kind of shitty anyway.

Thats exactly what I did too!!... I go there all the time sneak a few back myself hahaha jk. But really, I went to Lowes to buy pond pebbles by the large bags. Then hand picked all the colors and shapes I wanted. That is how I got that color scheme in my tank, but it is not done yet and I'm planning on adding more.

the smaller chunk to the left is malaysian driftwood, the big chunk.. some petco chick was selling driftwood on craigslist, she pulled it out of a creek around here, so i have no idea what it is >.<

it was like five dollars though. a piece that big out of a fish store, i can't even imagine what they'd try to charge.

Rare arowanas are def sick. My friends got some chili red and red tail golds. I use to have a silver and couple of Australian arowanas. Wanted to go dif route and went with Flowerhorns. Either way, I think its way better than piranhas. Never see a piranha sell for thousands. Lets see someone put a piranha in a arowana tank, lol!
