| In time-out for misbehaving.   | definitely needs many, many more plants... i just want to see how the ones i have do before i load up. i'm not sure if this is enough light or if the substrate is suitable, so on and so forth... but believe me, this will be a forest of a tank in a couple weeks. lemme try to get some pics of the cories edit: this camera can't take closeups for shit, which sucks because all the cories are hard parked in the middle of the tank, having a little cory meet. i'll get a new camera in a couple days and better pics will follow Last edited by BustedS13; 12-18-2008 at 04:15 AM. |

| In time-out for misbehaving. | went to the fish store today, bought: -3 silver hatchets -1 "chinese pleco" (Chinese Hillstream Loach) -12 ghost shrimp full stock: -10 neon tetras -4 skunk cories -3 silver hatchets -1 Chinese Hillstream Loach -12 ghost shrimp i'm thinking another 2 skunks and at least two more of the loaches, they look like little stingrays... and then really focusing on the plants.  |

| lol pwnt   | So then I got sick of the crawfish and lobster eating all the plants, so I gave them to my buddy and planted it up.   colors are great, cichlid gold all day everyday.  Those are a couple weeks old, I will be doing a water change tomorrow and getting some more pics, Also set up a 10 gallon on my dresser with a big lipped cichlid. Trying to sell my shoal for a serrasalmus maculatus right now. |

| BANNED  | ^^You should change your lighting set up. These Piranhas like mirky/ waters. with little light. They are instinctively shy and what I found out is that the dark makes them more aggressive and vicous. Try adding some floating plants to diffuse the light. You'll find that they are more active and better hunters. =) |

I need the bright lights for hte plants 240girl, I hear ya though. This shoal has to be sold I think, I have noticed some "chimples" on some of hte p's from getting scared and running into the glass. I am tyring to track down a serrasalmus maculatus at the moment, sucks because P's are illegal here, so i can just advertise them for sale on CL or anything. |

| In time-out for misbehaving. | update. up to six italian vals, two american vals, two pussilus, three swords, and a bundle of anacharis that quickly grew from 6" to more than the height of the tank. i need to chop it into more bundles. edit: and two chunks of java moss. current livestock: -10x neon -5x skunk cory -3x panda cory -3x chinese hillstream loach -4x silver hatchet -24x(?) ghost shrimp, three carrying eggs, one carrying baby shrimp -_- if nothing eats all the baby shrimp, i'm going to have a population problem. i'm currently seeking out a good local place for discus. | In time-out for misbehaving. | all i have camerawise is my g1, let me find a recent snap edit: this is the newest i have, it's a few weeks old i'll take a new one after i rearrange the tank.  a little info. -once weekly 10-20% water change -dosing 30mg/week API Leaf Zone liquid fertilizer -no co2 (yet) -filter is a Penn Plax Cascade 700. one coarse pad, one charcoal bag, and stuffed the rest with filter floss. currently changing media every 8 weeks. next change will add bio rings. diet consisting of: -Tetramin flake (will be replacing with Omega One super color when i run out) -Wardley sinking pellets -freeze dried bloodworms |

| lol pwnt | nice homie! Heres an update on mine: got bored with the piranhas, sold em to a big metalhead fireman. I got a bigass co2 tank and regulator from my boy at the magic pet shop and now I am in business gentleman.  I added the dwarf grass and the wood today, going to leave it like this for a bit, was trying to go dark to light from back to front of the left and on the right side I just wanted a nice low carpet with a taller backdrop. glossostigma all up underneath the wood. as they grow out of the pot I am taking the clippings and planting them arounda nd under the wood. once I get it all growing in thick, I will trim it and hopefully have created a nice attractive look. Ive got a jardini in there now, with 4 red tailed sharks, an ID shark, betta and 3 mollies. ID shark and Jardini are lame as fuck. just my opinion, I am looking for a snakehead, if I cant find one this week I will probably trade the jar for a high fin wolffish or two, and let them clean up the other fish. I stepped on one of my glass tops while doing this today, man I was fucking pissed off. Twenty something bucks right down the fucking drain.     I bought a rena filstar xp3 this weekend, shit rocks so fucking silent. added a maxi-jet 600 powerhead too, which of course is loud as shit. another week or so and ill be able to ditch the hang on back shit. I went into a new fish store today looking for that co2 ladder and im all baked, so I am bullshitting with this dude, I wish you coulda seen him, crazy ass hair, blue headband, ghetto sweatshirt, it was awesome, we ended up talking about trees, I broke him off with something, and he tells me that there is a snakehead in the cabelas fish tank here in CT. Going to head down tomorrow and see what I can dig up. heres my last piranha feeding video: |

| In time-out for misbehaving. | i don't know why i didn't mention it earlier, but that setup is rad. how often do you go through a tank? aaaand update. i had a brown algae issue, started scrubbing the glass every other day which helped a little. cut back on food some. then i got a surface extractor, the green intake you see there, and now most of the algae has cleared up in addition to the surface scum. unfortunately, the eheim surface extractor i got is an overengineered hunk of shit. it sucks in air every once in a while, it's really obnoxious. i paid way too much for it, and now i'm thinking i could have made something that t'd off the intake hose that would be more efficient and cost like two bucks. i'm going to have to run the eheim parallel with my penn plax intake. plants are all growing nicely, the anacharis in particular, some of the stalks or whatever grow an inch a day or so. i should have a nice forest of it in a few weeks.  |

| In time-out for misbehaving. | my anacharis is out of control. i need to get a bunch of rubberbands and weights to get it in line. right now it looks like a ball of shit. tomorrow will bring improvements. but for now before:   after:   gonna fix the anacharis issue tomorrow. water looks cloudy because it hasn't settled yet. i might be going after some bigger lights soon as well. |
