bought my new car today...crash

well those of you on the 5 north around the zoo drive exit mightve seen a 88 red mr2 s/c swerve across the freeway back and forth a couple times before going into the guardrail. dont be fightened or worried that was me, and im alright. car ... : ( just bought it and on my way home. Then a g37 cuts me off and i had to swerve out of the lane to not hit him or the semi in front of me. then it slid the other way, then the other way. back and forth. Then into the guardrail. kissed it a little bit. looked A LOT worse then it actually was. Both front fender and rear quarter are dented in a little bit. Back more than the front. The positive outlook i have though, is I think God was with me or helped me because it could have and probably should have been a lot worse.

sorry to hear that...what sucks is that dam g37 driver probably dont know shit and kept goin, could have gotten away if you got hurt man.

one of those situations where u probably would have been better off to hit them instead but they would get away with everything.

lol no thanks. actually ya mr2's are my thing. you should see what i can do in one when I'm driving good. i like them because of their handling ability that is really good when you're actually in control lol. Its perfect for canyons? I almost bought another 240. i would've actually but the guy stopped answering my calls? It was a nice sil80. and I drove another Mr2 after and i felt like I was home again. My friends told me to get the Mr also because of what i could do in my first one. But ya anyone here run the canyons? Los Angeles Crest and Mt. Wilson, or Sands Canyon, or GMR.

The g37 probably didn't look over his/her shoulder. Happened to me too. Some dude didn't look over his damn shoulder and just cut into my lane, so I had to swerve away. Luckily the 2 was an empty freeway (like always), so no harm done...

happened to me right now. danm driver in a van didnt look over so i had to honk and swerve. luckily there wasnt a lot of people on the freeway so i was able to avoid it. he just looked at me while i gave him the bird.

i got it yesterday : ) my grandma said " O GOD" haha every time i would like say the next thing that happened lol. and ya i can still drive it fine. just the fenders dented in a lil. front and rear right. pulled the front a lil so it wouldn't rub the tire anymore. so once i get back on my feet with this car get it smogged, registered, blah blah. im gonna start upgrading and putting things on. then we gotta go to a track : ) just a grip track day or w/e. Rear quarter

Front Fender ( barely any damage. most is that in front of the wheel the fender was in against the tire. we fixed it pretty much when we pulled it out. a lil left but mostly just the top of the wheel arch is left)

And idk why, i dont think there was a curb or anything but i could be wrong. if anyone has a mr2 s/c teardrop rim lemme know!

and some good front and rear shots to end it on a good note : )

Rebuit Engine at 170,000. its now at 178,000.
HKS Hi-power intake
Stock exhaust (just a tip) with a hollow cat
Sittin on Eibach springs

and the bad
is pretty much the non working alarm
and no head unit

i know ways to help numb that whole snap oversteer issue.

granted, it will still be an issue, but you can push the car farther before you have to worry about it.

I've been thinking about ditching my S13 for an SW20 lately... I miss my AW, and something about a super sexy, turbo, reliable Mk2 just seems very appealing to me.
Red, low on coils, 17s that don't fit like shit, CT20b, 3inch downpipe, Blitz NurSpec catback... Ugh, awesome. So simple, yet... It would make me so very happy. lol

dont rule out non turbo sw20's.

i had a shitload of fun with the 5sfe engine. and rippmods used to offer a supercharger kit for it, dunno if they still do, but the 5sfe handles boost really well, and its a tourqey 2.2

think of it as the ka-t of the toyota world i guess
(minus .2 litres if you wanna be anal)
