I thought the transmission tells the engine to spin at different speeds right? And when reverse, the transmission would tell the engine to spin backward.

Thats funny, I don't see how anyone can think this can happen though. Since the fuel injectors are before intakes valves it would be impossible for it to get fuel. I have heard of this happening on diesel engines before when the rpm's are brought very low.
