Drag coefficient of .16 dam!

(Update: The car reportedly has anti-lock brakes, stability control and airbags. According to Canadian Driver, "Volkswagen says the One-Liter Car is as safe as a GT sports car registered for racing. With the aid of computer crash simulations, the car was designed with built-in crash tubes, pressure sensors for airbag control and front crumple zones.")

Even if it was rwd, 8.5hp wont exactly spin tires.

I'd be so scared to get T-boned in that thing though.

It's made of carbon fiber which means if you are in a crash, the car will disintegrate, but you will be unharmed. It's lik ein Formula1 where the driver hits the wall at 200mph and walks away, the F1 cars are made of CF and other composites that absorb all the impact so that the driver does not. I have no doubt that this thing is very safe.

ya if you read the article, they've had this concept car for a few years, but never considered implementing it till the cost of carbon fiber came down a bit.
