Sylar's actual power is Intuitive Aptitude, the ability to learn how things work. He cuts the top of their skull off in order to see the part of the brain that stores their powers, I think that's the Adrenal gland from what I understand, so there you go.

The reason he didn't kill Claire is because he can't. She's immortal. Sylar said so himself. He also said she has powers beyond her knowledge, so therefore I think they'll introduce something new about her this season...

You know, for a guy who's all over this thread spewing his input, you don't seem to know much about the show...

not sure - i think when future peter talked to claire before she was gonna get hit by a train he said that her getting violated by sylar was not supposed to happen.

I'm pretty sure it will. The thing I found odd about that is; Claire obviously knows Peter's powers, so shooting him would be the same as shooting herself, it would have no effect. So why did they make it such a big deal?

well I know much from watching the show but I don't research it. I watch the show enough to know that they don't tell you exactly how Sylers powers work. yeah he worked at a clock store so that make sense about him seeing how things work. But how can a guy look at a brain and see how it works?And why did he have to finger Clairs brain to "see" how it works? Couldn't he have just looked? and he always wipes his hands clean after he kills people? why get your hands dirty if he can just "See" how it works and learn it.

And about Claire being different since Syler fingered her brain, that makes sense. So i think the future her would be different.
and I really want to see how Ando gets those powers, I am assuming it would be something to do with Saresh's formula. Because Ando just seems like the guy who is a lil jealous of his nerdy best friend haveing some col as powers while he has to be more lame than Robin from Batman.

In past episodes, they've only shown Sylar cutting their heads open. They've never actually shown his process of acquiring the power. There was a misconception among a bunch of idiots thinking he ate the brains. That's why they had to make it so obvious to people as to how he does it in the season 3 premier. But apparently people still dont get it. The reason he would be fingering Claire's brain would be to move the useless part of the brain aside to be able to see the adrenal gland which stores the power. He doesn't have x-ray vision...yet. And he wipes his hands because he wants to be clean... Yeah, he kills people and touches their insides, but he's not a savage. Lol.

I don't mean to be a dick. I guess the word "Spewing" wasn't so nice. But I don't believe in sugar coating things. I tell it like it is...
