My stories kinda long. ha. The reason i got my car is becasuse a kid i knew at school had it and sucked ass at working on cars, so i bought for a cheap 650, and i fixed it up. But id wanted one for a long time, cause ive been reading super street since i was 10 or 11, and i hated hondas and acuras, really dont know why. my older brother had an integra and i hated that thing. Back then, drifting was nonexistant. I drove and eclipse at 14, and decided i didnt want fwd, but i always wanted a 240, so i bought the kids. Ive now grown to respect hondas, and really want an eg so i can get >30mpg! hah.

Back in 1992.

I chose a 240SX base model because it was the only rear-wheel-drive sports car under $18,000 that model year. The Mazda Miata was cool, but just to small and girly looking for my taste. Plus, I think it was priced a bit higher than a 240 base model.

My other options were the Honda Prelude or Mitsubishi Eclipes, but they were in the $19,000- $21,000 price range, just over my budget. Yeah they had more power, but I didn't want my very first brand-new sports car to be front-wheel-drive.

I don't regret my desicion one bit.

The 240SX/S13 is more fun to drive.

HAHA but your 16 even then even when you were 10 there was D1 and formula D started in 04, you were just 10 and didnt know about it (plus your in AR).

im not trying to make fun of you at all dude just letting you know the haps

I mean think of how old pro drifters like Nomuken and NOB are, most of those guys started drifting as soon as s-chassis came out. most since like 92 and earlier.

The bandwagons in America just have a tendency to be really sloooooow.

Damn i miss the old days, except I was too broke to tune.

Yeah dude i understand what your saying. But all the coverage in the mags was hondas and drag and shit when i was 10, which is pretty much 7 years ago. All the hin or whatever it was called, and all that bs. There was very little on drifting, and i know i would be a little outta the loop being where im at. Im just trying to learn as much as i can, while i can, cause pretty soon there will be something else im sure. im digging time attack though. its big overseas and i hope it gets bigger here.

I didn't even want the damn 240, I wanted this 89 Celica AllTrac that was for sale in San Diego for dirt cheap, but it was sold before I had a chance to drive down there. The 240 was just there.. Available... Didn't want it because I thought it was ugly, and I didn't want people to think I was some Initial D drift fanboy douche.
But, it ran decently well, so I bought it. Hated it on the drive home, but fell in love with it as soon as I took it up to the mountains, and felt the glorious push of the rwd, rather than the fwd pull that I was so accustomed to.

The end.
Posted that on 01-19-2008, at 01:54 AM. Still applies, kinda. I REALLY wish I would've bought the '56 Buick Special that I was scoping out at the time, but the top end of the engine was in pieces, and I didn't have time to deal with that potential money pit. Instead, I bought a different money pit that was 33 years newer. ahahahaha...
Fuck it, at least the 240 was a running money pit. Albeit, WAY less cool than the Buick that I could've and should've bought. Oh well.

I'm currently in Texas, and my car is 1500 miles away in SoCal. I was watching a show today on Speed Channel about the developement of the new Acura Le Mans car... Watching the on-track test footage made me all tingly, and all I could think was, "holy shit, I need my car and a mountain road ASAP!" lol
