Barret-Jackson 2008

Is anyone else here? or watching it on tv? we just got home, all day drinking and stuff. Finally got internet so i figured i would post up and see if anyone else is interested.

Well my dad bought a car last year so this year we got open bar and VIP stuff. Nothing really cool except better parking, a gala that we sang happy birthday to Carroll Shelby on his 85th. That was cool. Tons of cool cars, but those stupid Monster Garage cars are so dumb and people are being idiots paying that much for a sewage pumper rolls.

My dad bought a porsche speedster replica for my mom today. Its tilted as a 74 VW, but it has a 1915cc motor and its cool. Then before we lift he bought a 1972 chevelle. Its on bags and 20s, its so sick. He bought it for me, so its even better!! But yea, just stoked and wanted to know if anyone else is checking it out.

Must be nice to have a dad buy you something like that. I wish I could go to Barrett Jackson.

Nice cars.
You know we want video of the Chevelle doing a burnout or something, right?
I buy my classics and musclecars off craigslist.

haha yea its pretty sweet. Its a once a month car really. I'm not going to drive it cuz its bank and I cant afford to spend money on it now, wedding and stuff to save for. But my dad wants to find a height the car is good at, and leave it at that height. i think its gay like that. it has remote air bags for a reason So I gotta figure out how the bags work, what height is proper and a way to measure it quickly so when i do drive it i can measure it in a parking lot quickly. but we played with it today and discovered that it has no seat belts, no wiper motors/blades, and no a/c. the last one i dont car about, and the blades either cuz its never gunna see rain. But all in all it was a good week and me and the fiance are rolling back to sacto tomorrow.

anyone else see that cobra that just went across? lot 707? so boss it hurts.

The "Blue Demon" is on the block right now!!

Blue Demon = First new ZR-1 Corvette. The ONLY one in that shade of blue. Chevy is retiring the paint code.

Let's see the bid! (United Way charity)

I wonder who bought the blue demon.

Let me get this right. The car is "yours" but you can't drive it.

Almost. They rolled the prototype across the stage for people to bid on. What he won is the first ZR-1 to roll off the assembly line, not the one on the stage. The one stage is just a prototype, no vin or anything. It'll likely be destroyed within the next 2 years from what I understand.

The guy won the rights to the very first ZR-1 to be built. Serial #0001. It will be the only one painted in that shade of Blue, like the prototype. Plus driving lessons in his new ZR-1. Plus concept drawings. Plus the tax write off since his $1M went to the United Way.

yea the chevelle is mine. But I'm 24 years old, have a wedding to pay for and finishing up my teaching credentials. So basically getting 6 MPG and not wanting to drive the car anywhere in fear of someone hitting it, stealing it, anything going wrong, just would rather store it at my dad's garage (he owns 9 other cars) and let it chill and wait for me. I have my 240sx and can use my dads other cars if i go anywhere with the fiance, so im not too worried.

Did anyone see what the monster garage panoz went for? it was so stupid. my god.
