s14 98 240sx wanting b swap in ny need help!!!!??

I have a 98 240sx and want to do a rb swap or sr something that i can slam some boost in but the emission inspection thing in new york is killing me because i have to get it inspected and pass but the jap motors wont do that since it has to be hooked up to a obII anyone have anyway around it without getting into trouble???

i don't really know how it works in ny but what i did is i got my the car inspected first before the my swap...i have until 2009...when it expires i either got to find someone that can do it for me or buy a cheap 240 with a updated inpection sticker on it already and swap it out...thats how i had it on my other old s13

Yea i gotta renew my inspections every year so thats alot of swapping i would hav to do but thanks for the input!!

  1. There is no real way around it without the potential for trouble
  2. Find some locals with swapped engines and ask where they go

Yea i should just buy a shack there and register is there!!!! but thanks i guess i gotta built my ka24de i want 350rwhp for my daily driver!! so that means gotta get pistions rods and port polished head!!! alot of work and money!

if you have a friend with a 240 that will pass, buy his inspection sticker from him and he can just go get his reinspected.

best bet is to go with the s14 motor and hookup the obd2 ports to the ecu
or you might not like this one keep your KA motor and harness ecu maf the whole 9 yards but you might have to buy a extra ka harness and swap the ka in when you need to go to emmsions or...........buy a 95 240.......take it in now before the swap to buy you some time and worry about it after 3 years 4 years or whatever the NY laws are
